Albatros Beach Hotel

We visited this hotel at the end of May (just as the season was starting). This is a lovely clean, modern hotel with great staff. Our room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for us with a little balcony. It was always spotlessly clean. The breakfast was pretty average however the freshly squeezed orange juice and choice of coffees were very good. The staff on reception were very friendly and attentive, I was poorly whilst there and they arranged for me to visit a doctor and checked that I was ok on my return. Because it was the beginning of the season the beach accross the road had beach was ready not been set up so we used sunbeds at a local bar just 5 mins walk away and by the fourth day the beach was ready to use. There were adequate comfy sunbeds and umbrellas (small charge). There are plenty of good restaurants all within a couple of minutes walk. We used the hotels shuttle bus to visit Taomina a couple of times which is about 15 mins drive away and definitely worth a visit. The Sicilian people we met are so friendly and welcoming. I cant wait to visit Sicily again!

Room fantastic hotel spotless everyone who worked there and we dealt with polite and very helpful food amazing location spot on it really was the most amazing week we spent a lot of time on the beach 15 euros for two sunbeds and a umbrella 3 rows back the hotel even did food and drinks on the beach which was great can recommend the set menu in the evenings food was lovely and the breakfast buffet was amazing had a great week here

We could not asl for anything more from our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for settling on the beach, away from the hussle and bustle of Taromina. We used the local bus as this was cheapest and easy to access innthe main square, five minutes walk away. What makes this hotel great is the cleanliness, the wonderful food and the wine tasting. We were fortunate to book a special meal with Nicosia Wines (the etna region wines are exquisite). Tamara was very helpful with wine tasting and local recommendations. Every member of staff was kind and helpful. This hotel does not miss a trick for a perfect stay.

This was our second holiday visit. The first time we were there was two years ago and then everything was top. And this time everything was top. The hotel was very clean, great breakfasts, comfortable beds. The beach is brilliant. The service in the entire hotel and on the beach is great. We felt like we were at home. I’m sure that we come back.

So, I have just arrived back in the UK to a rainy summer day and thought I'd write a review about our stay here. Location is right on the beach front in letojanni and is perfectly situated for numerous restaurants and the ofc the beach. It is about a ten minute drive to Taormina, the hotel offers a pay for shuttle to and from costing 5 euros per person one way, so we were a family of 3, it cost 15 euros there and 15 back. Now this is by far and away not the cheapest way to get there and back, but it was easy and less hectic. You can get the local bus, this a lot cheaper, but we went in July and the buses were rammed (standing room only) and very hot. The one thing that lets down the shuttle is the frequency ( it's not very frequent) and you have to get your name down for it, as it gets booked up. The hotel itself is a modern design and is very clean and well presented throughout, the pool is very small, however with the beach on the doorstep, we didn't bother using it once. The rooms had air con and were very comfortable, they have a fridge, which was big enough to get several drinks bought from the local supermarket coop. The restaurant, we only ate breakfast, it's a typical continental style, including cereal, toast and breads, eggs, bacon, sausage, meats and cheese, lots of cakes, fruit, yoghurts and granita, freshly squeezed orange juice from a machine ( young kids will love watching that) The dinner menu always looked very tasty and from what we saw the food looked good, however we didn't try it. The bar is ok, but we felt more of a pull to go out to the beach bars. The beach is private (rented from the council) in front of the hotel and is flanked either side by public beaches, you do have to hire the sun beds, but this is the same as lots of places I have visited that are styled as a beach club. So if you want a comfy beach bed you will need to pay, you can also order the hotel bar food and drinks to be brought out to the sun beds, if you are not fussed you can sit on the public bits of beach. I would recommend beach shoes, as the beach is all different sorts of stone from, very fine stone like sand to bigger pebbles, like a British beach. The water is lovely and my daughter and I went in it every day. The biggest let down though is being pestered by beach sellers ( looky looky salesmen) there are loads of them and even if you have said no to one, he may well ask you a further 5 times throughout the day. Most of them got the message after a polite no thank you the first time. I even got woken up from a sleep by one tapping me on the foot. We were a bit surprised the hotel didn't do more to stop the beach sellers. I would definitely stay again and do recommend. This is a lovely hotel with a private beach area right opposite . All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and well looked after. There was an excellent choice at breakfast. All the reception staff were brilliant - extremely helpful and friendly. There is a daily shuttle bus service to Taormina.

Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The presentation of the whole building is immaculate given that it is sited next to the sea. The interior decor and furnishings are maintained to a very high standard and I thought it was a new building and this was the first season, only to find that it was a refurb of an existing building from 2019. The rooms are beautifully kept by housekeeping who could see that we liked English breakfast tea and ensured that out tea tray was kept topped up. A minor but very important point. The breakfasts are astounding. There is something there for everyone. You will not get the full English fry-up as this is a Sicilian hotel, but what you will get is the best of the Continental breakfast offering. Similarly, we were half-board and took the evening meal option, and are glad we did. The Sicilian dishes are to Michelin standard, and I was told from ingredients locally sourced. The restaraunt is excellently run by staff who know their work and do it well, and even though this is a four star establishment, the presentation, staffing and efficiency of all aspects of this hotel is of five star quality.

We stayed 4 nights and felt like we should have stayed longer! The rooms were modern, clean and very well sized. The hotel staff, particularly those who helped with shuttling to the parking area, were fantastic. The beach area was excellent - the beach towels and beach bag in the rooms was so well received. We'll definitely return.

This lovely hotel is perfectly appointed for a beach holiday and for exploring the beautiful area around Eastern Sicily. Room was spotlessly clean and staff very friendly and attentive. Food delicious and plenty of choices. Thank you.
