This really is a 10/10 place. My husband and my favourite place we’ve stayed, this trip to Thailand. We’ve already decided we want to come back, with friends, next time. We wanted a place to cut our drive to Bangkok and had no idea Sarat Thani and the surrounding area had so much to offer. Mr. Pongsak, the owner, could not be more lovely. He is so thoughtful and invested in making sure everyone who stays has the best experience and shares his knowledge of the area and all the things there are to do and see. We drove a rented car, and found it sooooo peaceful and relaxing to be there. And so close to get to town, markets and lots of yummy foods. We cannot wait to share this gem with friends and try the other cabins. The pond with all its fish is a gorgeous water feature too. They opened in 2025 and are building a third cabin. They are modern and still so charming and relaxing. Cannot wait til we can return on our next trip. My only concern is that it is such a great spot and is going to be so popular, we will need to book well in advance next time! Thank you for everything. See you next time, Mr. Pongsak and family.

The hotel is comfortable, close to Central Surat Thani, and traffic is light. The rooms are relatively new and clean, and the staff provides good service.

Một đêm nghỉ rất rẻ và hài lòng với giá cả. Vị trí thuận tiện gần bến xe buýt, xe khách Seatran và chợ ẩm thực. Phòng sạch sẽ nhưng thiết kế đơn giản. Thiết kế phòng tắm hơi kỳ quặc và chưa được cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng, vì bồn cầu đối diện với vòi sen nên bạn không thể ngồi thẳng. Vòi sen cố định và khi bật, trừ khi bạn cao, vòi sen sẽ đập thẳng qua đầu bạn, va vào rèm cửa, chảy xuống sàn và thấm nước khắp nơi. L Giường cứng và chắc chắn, trừ khi bạn ngủ sâu.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice. There appeared to be no hot water in my room, however, it turned out I needed to leave the water running for 10 minutes for it to get warm. I would recommend telling guests this, as I had to have a cold shower on the first day at 5:30 am.

The pool is beautiful, makes you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The hotel is a little unloved/dated but the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Aside from a Lotus shopping mall across the road and a bigger Central Plaza Mall five mins drive away there isn’t really much else around but as we were only here for one night before a transfer to Khao Sok it was fine and at £17 a night couldn’t really complain. Found an amazing restaurant a couple of minutes walk away and sat outside and had ‘hot pot’ with some local residents. The breakfast was the only downside, the food was left uncovered so it was cold and had flies around it.

Hồ bơi đẹp. Thậm chí còn có chuối và bánh quy miễn phí ở sảnh. Có một vài điểm kỳ quặc nhưng không ảnh hưởng gì cả. Dịch vụ thân thiện. Tôi sẽ quay lại đây nếu đến Surat Thani. Cách chợ đêm 25 phút đi bộ hoặc 4 phút lái xe (mỗi người đi xe bán tải 20 baht hoặc taxi grab ~70 baht)

Ưu điểm: Vị trí tốt gần trung tâm thành phố. Rất dễ dàng để tiếp cận các điểm tham quan chính, bến tàu và đồ ăn. Khách sạn đẹp và hiện đại hơn so với các khách sạn địa phương khác trong thị trấn. Là người Thái, B2 là danh sách mà tôi luôn chọn nhưng đối với chi nhánh này có nhiều thứ cần cải thiện. Nhược điểm: độ sạch sẽ của phòng là B2 tệ nhất mà tôi từng ở. Ga trải giường bẩn, nấm mốc trong vòi hoa sen có vẻ như họ không bao giờ giặt kỹ. Tóc thậm chí còn ở trong minibar. Phản hồi chuyển đến nhân viên để cải thiện đáng kể. Dịch vụ của nhân viên có thể tốt hơn nhưng so với hạng khách sạn bình dân. Tôi có thể xếp hạng họ là 4/5. Tuy nhiên, tôi chỉ ở đây 1 đêm. Tôi yêu cầu thêm gối và họ nói rằng chúng tôi đã hết hàng và sau đó không làm nữa.

A Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated. That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us. The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast. The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani. In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again.
