"Interesting" hotel. The Sway had good reviews when compared to other hotels in the immediate area. Chose to book here based on that. I assume (I HOPE) they are under construction with a complete renovation. The grounds and lobby were pretty much a disaster. The person at the front desk noted that we would need to call a number at a nearby sister property if we wanted assistance after 9:00pm. The front, sliding-glass door did not work. You had to push it open and closed by hand.
Rooms showed signs of a very recent update AND significant wear (new paint and fixtures next to years-old peeling paint). Small room, small bathroom, bad fake hardwood floors, huge TV mounted very high on the wall. Horrible room lighting. Overly bright fluorescent(?) lighting on starkly bare white walls. On the other hand, the room was reasonably clean and the beds were very comfortable.
As is often the case, much of the issue was the other folks staying at the property. Not many folks here on a Tuesday, but the few we saw were a little sketchy. Had a real "motel" feel with fellas hanging out on the balcony and a couple of other fellas doing what looked like truck repair in the parking lot. Both the neighbors to one side and those above us were rather loud well into the night.
Did not like the location much. Dark secondary road with a few similar hotels and small businesses. However, there are several restaurants close by. We would not plan to stay at this property again.
