This is my first experience staying at a Japanese temple. The place is very clean and has the feel of nostalgia of a ancient temple located next to the okunoin cemetery. The room is spacious equipped with heater, tv and necessary amenity. The break is served at around 7:30am after the mediation which the guests are invited to join and the dinner is around 5:30pm. All vegetarian menus which are very delicious. You will be given a wooden stick to write your wish and name and use it during the fire ceremony at 1pm take place next to the temple. The place are ran by professional monks who speak good English. I highly recommend this place. The only downfall is there are only two restroom without bidet in the facility.

Cool stay at a monastery in Koyasan! As far as I understand, Shojoshin-in is one of the larger temple lodgings in Koyasan. Our room had an amazing view (koi pond and forest) from the tea room. All our basic needs are met including amenities. They served authentic Japanese vegan meals; I particularly enjoyed the dinner as it had a large variety of small dishes. Keep in mind this is Japanese style lodging, where you have a shared bath with other guests.

It was my first time to visit Goyamountain. I enjoyed very much my stay and the vegetarian meals were exceptional.

We would have preferred a thicker tatami. Otherwise the place is really an adventure to remember. Dont miss the 4pm temple tour and 6:30am morning service.

The temple is well organised and staff are helpful, We experienced a quiet and tranquil time there especially in morning prayer and temple tour.

Room was clean and nice. Shared bathroom, which is a little inconvenient. Overall it's a great experience.

非常棒的寺院！寧靜、優雅。早晚是素食精進料理，體驗了早課和下午的祭火儀式。寺院的工作人員都非常友好。完全不一樣的入住經歷。以後來高野山，還會考慮住這裏。

Hermoso Lugar. Excelente estadía en este templo, todos muy amables y un perfecto espacio para descansar y conocer la cultura Japonesa.

Es war eine tolle Erfahrung in einer Tempelunterkunft zu schlafen! Vor dem einchecken konnten wir unser Gepäck abstellen und konnten direkt zum Kongobu-ji Okuno-in Temple loslaufen. Der schöne Weg durch den Zedernwald mit vielen Schreinen und Denkmälern startet direkt neben dem Tempel. Die Zimmer sind schlicht im japanischen Stil mit Tatami Matten und Futon Betten. Wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick in den Garten aus unserem Zimmer. Die Bäder waren geteilt mit anderen Gästen. Baden und Duschen im Onsen waren nur von 16 bis 21 Uhr möglich. Nach dem einchecken nahmen wir um 16 Uhr an einer Führung durch den Tempel teil, die sehr interessant war. Pünktlich um 17.30 Uhr gab es Abendessen, natürlich Vegan wie die Mönche leben. Dann ging es früh ins Bett, weil der Tag morgens mit einem Gebet um 6.30 Uhr startete. Danach gab es direkt Frühstück, natürlich ebenfalls Vegan. Abgerundet wurde das Erlebnis durch die Feuerzeremonie die um 12 Uhr startete und circa 2h dauert.
