Very nice property, good for chill out, there are multiple restaurants, we loved there Pizza, sunset view is also amazing, make sure you make bookings for better view with drinks. I wish they had more Vegetarian options.

Whether it's breakfast or dinner, the food delivered to the room is not only fresh and delicious but also beautifully presented, making you feel genuinely welcome. It's particularly worth mentioning that I once accidentally left some items in the room. The hotel staff promptly contacted me and arranged to return the items quickly, which was very reassuring. However, there are a few areas where the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort could improve. Firstly, the hotel's location is relatively remote, making it inconvenient to hail a taxi, especially at night or during peak hours, which can be troublesome for guests who need to go out frequently. Additionally, there are some issues with the hotel's pool facilities. The edges of the pool may be rough, and I accidentally got a cut while using the pool. I hope the hotel can address this to enhance the safety and comfort of their guests. Overall, the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort remains a highly recommended accommodation choice, particularly for travelers seeking excellent service and delicious meals. If they can resolve the transportation and pool facility issues, this would be an ideal place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

This is a resort with many facilities, a beautiful beach, and different water activities to choose from, but the rooms are a bit old.

Loved our stay at Shangri la hotel, despited the hotel itself is old but it offers a great amount of activities to keep the guests busy and happy. It also owns one of the best sunset bar in KK city.

Nice and easy trip for tourists. Marine activity and island hopping is easy to do and hotel room is big and clean. I was told the room near to the pool and sea is fully renovated and staff asked me if I wanna upgrade. I was happy with Mountain View since I did really stay in the room and see the view from there.

Great and excellent staycation. The view of the resort is the best. The room is clean and the staff all friendly and helpful. Only the pool floor is slippery, near to kids pool. The big swimming pool not so clean because of the dry leaves and sand from the beach i guess. The food taste is flat and the menu is same for 2 days. But the pastries fresh and nice.

Nice sea view and super romantic sunset view from our room. Kids like the water park a lot. And the infinity sea view pool is beautiful also.

We stayed 4 nights here. Overall experience is wonderful. My kids love the swimming pools so much and the sunset is wondrous. Just a bad experience was that the air conditioning kept buzzing at the mid night. And I could not sleep well and finally I called the maintenance to fix it.

Great resort we'll located and extremely lovely staff. They really made our Christmas holiday special with accommodating a thrice delayed flight quite early on Chriatmas Day. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. The rooms in the Kinabalu wing could use an upgrade but the room was clean and spacious with a balcony and picturesque mountain view. The resort offers a multitude of activities and is great for families. Would definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable hotel with my kids in family room. They love the bunk bed, beach is clean sand is soft. Not crowded. The swimming kids pool is warm. Kid slide also fun The breakfast have variety choice and tasty. Will like to come back again

I've had the privilege of staying in numerous Shangri-La's throughout Southeast Asia, and this particular one felt somewhat dated and in dire need of modernisation. I could see signs of improvements in progress, with sections that appeared to have already received a facelift. On my first day, I ventured to the sauna, only to find the temperature so lukewarm that I couldn't even work up a sweat. I voiced my discontent, and I'm pleased to report that the issue was addressed promptly by the next day. One aspect that left me somewhat disenchanted was the interaction, or rather lack thereof, between the staff and guests. It didn't quite embody the exemplary service one would expect from a high-end 5-star establishment. However, there was a shining exception to this observation - Addy, who was stationed at the breakfast area. Addy demonstrated a commendable level of attentiveness, engaging guests at their tables and ensuring needs were met promptly. Whether you required additional items or sought information, Addy was the person to turn to. This kind of service truly exemplified the standard one would anticipate from a hotel of this caliber. I did have an enjoyable stay, but for this hotel to remain a five star there is room for improvement.
