Best Western Hibiscus Motel

Great motel. If you have mobility issues be sure to request a ground floor room. The hotel is between old town the beach. A 30 minute walk to either. It is older butt clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was above par for a hotel. The access to filter water 24 hr a day was great. I give t very high marks!

The room decor, landscaping and pool area really remind you you're in Key West, which is fantastic. Most BW's pretty much look the same, but this one embraces the location. Although there's no elevator, it's only a 2-story building, so bringing luggage up wasn't a problem. There's no on-site laundry, but you can show your key across the street and use another hotel's laundry. Pool area had a lot of seating, and various types as well. People seemed to really enjoy the large loungers. Breakfast was a bit less varied than other Best Westerns, but certainly enough choices to find something for everyone. We found the staff to run the whole spectrum of friendliness, from truly warm and welcoming to a bit stand-offish. Being able to stay in the old-town area is worth the price. When we took the trolley and it stopped at hotels in the newer part (on reclaimed land), it seemed like a really boring place to stay. We would choose this hotel next time.

This was the perfect hotel for our Key West getaway. Spacious, clean, nicely appointed rooms and the location was amazing - just off Duvall street and Old Town Key West was easily walkable. Close to Southernmost area, great restaurants and most attractions.

Location was very good. I was able to walk just about everywhere I wanted to go. The room was clean and well supplied. Breakfasts provided enough choices to keep me happy. The hotel seemed to be fully booked, but staff did a commendable job of keeping the breakfasts well stocked. Pool was nicer than most motel pools. Lots of seating in spite of being fully booked. Price was high, but I guess this is the norm for Key West at high season as I could not find a reasonable alternative for less, only more. The only criticism I have is that I couldn't regulate the a/c. It was much too cold at first, and if I tried to adjust the temperature, it became too hot.

Will the manager provided excellent customer service. When my wife had the flu and could not walk he moved us down from the second floor to the first floor. He was there most days which gave us a feeling of comfort and safety. The two double bedroom was very large, very clean, and tidy with all the amenities and the pool and setting was beautiful. Good selection for breakfast and the staff kept the food plentiful and the breakfast area very clean The location, one block from Duval Street - the main street in Key West was ideal.

I stay here often due to its location and prices, but some things need work. One thing is the deodorizer used in the rooms when being cleaned is very overpowering. Another would be the floors need better cleaning since our feet were black after walking barefoot on the rugs and floor in the rooms. This is definitely a budget hotel however because of the nice front desk staff and location I stay here quite a bit.
