Beautiful colonial hotel /grounds well located near the city centre/lake. Staff are amazing in particular Danishika at reception… We had breakfast and lunch which again was lovely/wide assortment of cakes, croissants, fruit as well as an English breakfast.. Must go to hotel if you’re planning a visit in Kandy…

We really enjoyed our stay here and the room overlooking the lake was super with its own terrace. The elephant towel decoration on the bed was a lovely creative touch. Room including bathroom was spacious - lots of ants in the toilet area climbing the walls. The service was good but first time in Sri Lanka we felt slightly uneasy as didn’t feel it was wholly genuine- there also seemed to be more staff hanging around than visitors and a bit distasteful that they continually waited for tips even when we insisted moving our own luggage less than 2 metres. Lots of staff seemed to be chilling and on their phones when lots of the hotel could have been cleaned eg floors/ window ledges which were dusty / stained/ crumbs etc. Waiter at b/f was charming but even his clothes looked as though they could have done with a good wash.

Ru Boutique is a small hotel in a historical building, in a perfect location (overlooking Kandy Lake, walking distance to the main sites). The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, ditto the bathrooms. The breakfasts are amazing and dinner options are good also (travelling with a teen, and there was a decent selection of western options for her). The staff are lovely.

We had 2 nights here but wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was beautiful and very well equipped with a fantastic balcony overlooking the lake (room 303). The food was fantastic and lots of it. We ate one night in the hotel and found the food delicious and reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely and we were especially impressed with the chef who went out of his way to provide me with several gluten free options in addition to the large amount of food that was already gluten free. Highly recommended.

Immaculate rooms, super comfortable beds, extremely attentive and kind staff, wonderful location close to city centre and on the lakefront. Food was both affordable and excellent quality in the restaurant and they were more than happy to cater for allergies.

An amazing boutique property overlooking a beautiful lake. I always explore to stay in unique places and this is one of a kind. Very cosy, personal and so serene. The front officers both Danushika and Suranga were so welcoming and they actually upgraded all our 4 rooms. The suites were superb! Thank you for the lovely gestures. Traveling with elderly and kids, we always ensure to have a place that could accommodate our needs and wants at times. My family enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. Both Pradeep and Susantha were very attentive and accommodating. I remember asking for ice-cream for my boys for breakfast and we got it for complimentary. So sweet! These are the small things that will take them a very long way. Jayantha, Buddika and Sanjeewa - they were so helpful. Thanks for all the help rendered throughout our stay! Highly recommended in Kandy! Trust me, a pretty place too! ❤️
