Rayelin Hotel Istanbul Old City Special Category

This was our first time in Istanbul and I wanted to stay in the old city. Picked Rayelin because the photos looked appealing. Once there it was love from the start. Great welcome, Mustafa explained everything to us re hotel and things to do. The room was amazing (pity overlooking a weird road), clean, new, modern with a nice plate of fruit and sweets, The bed was so comfortable and the shower is the best. Can’t fault it. Breakfast was super… all you can eat. They might need to do better cappuccino . At reception people are so honest and caring. Well dressed, good English, they run out to get you cabs… top top we loved it

The hotel is excellently located near to The Grand Bazaar and The Blue Mosque. Due to this however, prices in the area for food and basics are outrageous. Fortunately, there are brilliant transport links very close by. The hotel itself was very good with modern, clean bedrooms and a very nice reception. The staff were all excellent and extremely helpful. Sultan, in particular made us feel extremely welcome and was helpful throughout our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul!

I had a pleasant stay at the Rayelin Hotel. I was upgraded to a better suite on arrival and I absolutely loved it. The room and bathroom was spacious, the shower was my favourite. The staffs were friendly and (Akin)was super helpful when I misplaced my phone. The breakfast could be better, not much options to chose from but I will definitely visit again. :)

This is thankfully one of the cleanest hotels in the area by far. It is ruined somewhat by the allowance of smoking inside the hotel, however they do their best to keep the area airy, and to be honest its just something you have to tolerate in Istanbul in general. The hotel staff are as friendly as they need to be, they dont make any effort to be any more or less than required, and seem to interact on an 'as needed' basis. But they are generally ok. Not too helpful to direct you or guide you to anywhere you may want to go in the city, and only useful within the hotel itself only. Dont book any excursions they offer, even with a discount, they are far far more overpriced than you will find outside, and you can also haggle outside. Rooms are made everyday, although we stayed a full week the bed sheets were not changed, towels were not cleaned and neither the inroom mugs etc, but as I say it was still a far cleaner hotel than the others you will find locally, and the rooms really are lovely albeit quite basic and so this is easily overlooked. Pillows were really high, and there are loads of them, so it would have been good to have various 'puffiness' to choose whats right for you, as we did get neck aches and ended up using our travel pillows to sleep with. What really brought the hotel down however is the Spa and the Spa staff. The spa is womens only between 10-12 in the morning and mixed thereafter. The hammam is nice but very bright so its not very relaxing. The pool was cold the whole stay, and the jaccuzzi had a 'technical issue' the whole week too so it didnt work for the full week with no indication they were even thinking of repairing it so dont get your hopes up if you think you will get to use that, looks like its been that way for a while. Also the music playing in the pool area was some hardcore rap music (i kid you not) that you would expect to hear in downtown new york, and not in a spa, swearing included. The steam room worked intermittently and on one occassion we went inside after a man had been smoking in there and it was a horrendous experience. The therapists tend to spend their time on their phones with thier feet up in the small changing rooms which is awkward, but whats more awkward is that they leave the changing room doors wide open, coming in and out constantly, so there is no privacy and everyone can see in, as the doors open onto the area where you change so it isnt very private at all. The spa manager was walking around on facetime to her boyfriend / husband / a male and sat in the womens changing area while I was trying to change with her phone facing me, and this is just completely unprofessional behaviour on all parts. Furthermore we were practically blocked and chased out of the spa on our checkout day - we had the full day at the hotel but despite having spent a whole week there and paid the hotel X amount of money, you are strictly unwelcome once you have checked out. Hotel is beautiful, room was huge with the biggest comfiest bed ever. Bathroom was spectacular from automatic heated toilet to the tub and shower was huge. Staff very friendly and helpful and kept room clean and stocked with fresh water fresh fruit and sweets. 10/10

Amazing beyond description. All staff are super great. Pool is amazing. Rooms are so comfy and good smell of corridors. Friendly staff. Perfect location. Im definitely coming back again here. Receptionists and Mehmet and Abdullah and Ayla and Chef Eyup were super great and amazing. I travelled to many countries and been to Istanbul 3 times before but never have been to an amazing hotel like that.

I can not begin how amazing this hotel is. I travel all over the world and stay in hundreds of Hotels and this one is by far one of the best I have ever been to. From the second you walk in you get greated by everyone. They are super friendly, helpful and professional. The amount of attention they pay to details is very much appreciated. It is super clean, modern, comfortable and the rooms are bright. I will never stay at another hotel in Istanbul. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I'm very much looking forward to returning.

Amazing experience. Staff looked after us really well. I booked through *********** and then some scammers asked for a payment which my bank have now refunded. Please be aware that you don’t have to make a payment when reserving the room via ***********. If anyone asks for a payment then know it’s a scammer and not the hotel. We paid the amount when we got to the hotel. It’s very clean and the towels smelt amazing. We were welcomed by some Turkish coffee and local desserts.

Cannot speak highly enough of this fabulous new hotel in Old Town Istanbul. Facilities are excellent including great 25 metre pool, sauna, steam room & gym. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty from outstanding staff. They went out of their way to help us, nothing was too much trouble. In particular thanks to Sultan, Mustafa Hur & Sibelius & Burak. & Deniz. Room was good size , well appointed with very comfortable bed & pillows, great bathroom, good size. Breakfast so much to choose from, excellent. Location very central in Old City, only 3 tram stops from Sultanahmet. Shopping far cheaper here than in heart of Sultanahmet. I recommend this hotel very highly, would not stay anywhere else in Istanbul, great value for money.
