Hotel Terme Alexander

The location of this hotel is the best thing about it. Other than the front desk staff, it wasn't very English/American friendly. Unless you want pastries for breakfast (I don't) not much of a selection at the breakfast buffet. The container that was supposed to have eggs/sausage was empty and the cheese on the meat/cheese tray was old (when sliced cheese has those dried edges....was not fresh). The wait staff wasn't very friendly. Maybe a language barrier, but didn't seem to be an issue with the Italians, which was the majority of the clients. We didn't meet any others staying there that were English speaking. We only ate there for breakfast because it was included. The hotels in the town area, way more accommodating as well as better service. the front desk had a coupon for Medora Restaurant which was very close. A much better option for lunch/dinner than eating onsite. As for the pool, Fernando told us we couldn't reserve chairs, and we wouldn't have a problem getting a chair in the afternoon. Old towels weren't picked up so it was hard to tell which chairs were available as well as more than 1/2 the chairs with "reserved"signs on them. We only stayed here because it was booked through a travel company we used. I should have done my research and had them book a different hotel. Like I said, it is a great location but not a 4 star hotel by any means.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. The location is very good. On the beach and also has a lovely pool. It has easy access to dinning & shops ( just a 5 minutes walk ) . The famous castle is a bit of a walk but worth a visit. The hotel is a typical Italian experience. The rooms are traditional- but good size & very clean. Shower had great pressure. We found the breakfast good and the service was very good. We would love to return.

Hit and miss with decor, reception nicely done, rooms are very basic not what I would expect from 4 star, not impressed at all with the restaurant!!most staff are rude and only attend if you speak Italian, food is not labelled so I struggled as a vegetarian!! Spa is very basic and did not have steam room operating either. Only saving grace for this hotel is location near beach and shops, would not recommend if you are looking for luxury

Sea view room very nice. Large clean. Nice bathroom with shower, but the shower needed a bit updating. We stayed half board. Breakfast buffet style. Dinner a bit disappointing, we had to sit on the same table each night, food very poor , when reading menu you thought it was a good choice but meal small portions and not good. Deserts the same every evening and very basic. Staff not that friendly and seemed they didn’t have a lot of time for the English!! Be careful if you book a sea room as twice when we were there they had music ( very much catered for the elderly) was loud in the room and had as we had to be up at 4am on departure date. Cleaners were amazing, very clean room every day. The swimming pool was absolutely disgusting. Needs rebuilding or at least re grouting, lots of black stains on the floor of the pool and all around the sides. Hotel right on beach , lovely fish restaurant on beach. Short walk through the garden to Main Street with lots of shops and restaurants. We went end of Season September early October and the mosquitoes ******, got bitten so much.

Great food, amazing waiter, shame the reception staff and manager weren’t so accommodating. We booked half board and we’re advised on arrival that men were only allowed in the restaurant with long trousers on (do they not realise this is the 21st century!) - my husband hadn’t brought any (bearing in mind the 30 degree forecast). The way the reception staff spoke to us was appalling, followed up by the manager ‘telling off’ the waiter in the middle of restaurant was embarrassing for him as well as us. I don’t know what hotels these days can afford to loose customers spending money on drinks because they think someone wearing smart shorts in a restaurant is ‘unacceptable’. This place needs needs to sort out its customer service, which is a shame because the waiters and the food are good

The service and the food were excellent Very Italian. Friendly staff. The spa was great. Had a very enjoyable time there. The only criticism the room was good but would class it more 3* than 4*had everything in it but furniture a bit dated but would recommend this hotel

Lovely hotel in a fabulous location, sea view and a very short walk to the main shopping streets, bus station and the harbour. The staff were all very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. I did not use the pools or spa facilities, so I am unable to comment. The outside pool looked good, but it was too cold to use during the week I was there, as the pool was not heated. My only minor issue was with the food; there was no vegetarian main course, but I was told I could use the buffet, which is laid on every evening. However, the buffet was also not labelled, it was difficult to work out which dishes had no meat/fish in them, even better if the information could also be provided for the cheese used in the dishes. There is possibly not too much demand for vegetarian food as it seems to be catering for the more mature market but there were also some italian families with children. Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay, and I am sure if I had asked for another vegetarian option, it would have been prepared for me. As it was, there was enough food on the buffet, and there was always one starter, which appeared to be suitable and also a choice of 3 desserts. Just for clarification, allergy information was provided on the menus. Also, one of us chose the fruit option for dessert, but despite asking, only honey dew melon was served every evening.

Ho trascorso una decina di giorni con mia moglie in quanto volevamo effettuare un ciclo di fangoterapia presso le loro terme ; terme valide con personale preparato, cordiale specialmente in segreteria ( la sig.ra AnnaMaria ) quindi è da 4 stelle. Per quanto riguarda l'hotel sicuramente ha qualche stella in più ad eccezione del personale al ricevimento cordiale e collaborativo ( bravissima la sig.na Tonia ) per il resto ha necessità di una buona ristrutturazione delle camere e di un valido " manager" per l'organizzazione dei servizi. La sala pranzo è da " anni 60 " con il buffet delle colazioni da incubo, mal disposto, poca igiene assai deprimente con personale impreparato e confusionario( non posso dire nulla per pranzi e cene in quanto non usufruite ). Camera spaziosa con balcone e vista mare ( quella scelta in parte ristrutturata con mobili alcuni seminuovi altri anni '60 ) mancanza di una macchina caffè o perlomeno di un bollitore ( ma questo è comune in molti altri hotel in quanto è derivato da mancanza di cultura ).Pulizia accettabile se non si guardano i particolari ( bordi box doccia, bocchetta aspiratore in bagno, bocchetta uscita aria condizionata). Sala ricevimento recentemente ristrutturata con arredi nuovi di buon aspetto ad eccezione delle tovaglie sui tavoli interni ed esterni ( sulla balconata vista piscina ) anni '60 con colori smunti. La piscina esterna necessita di una buona pulizia in tutti gli angoli e di un bagnino più presentabile con voglia di lavorare. Per finire come ciliegina dopo aver speso qualche migliaia di euro nelle terme mi hanno addebitato 19 euro per noleggio accappatoio.E' un vero peccato in quanto questo hotel ha dei FORTI POTENZIALI per essere uno dei migliori in zona per la sua posizione sul mare con vicinanza al centro della città, con le sue terme e con il suo giardino ( se fosse tenuto bene ).

Conoscevo la struttura per averci passato circa 15 anni ,2 settimane a luglio ,con la famiglia tra gli anni 80 e gli anni 90. Chiaramente essendo molto legato ai ricordi che ho qui da bambino , il solo ritornarci gia mi metteva buon umore. Arrivati nella hall scopriamo che l’albergo negli ultimi anni ha avuto importanti interventi di ristrutturazione. Nuova hall, nuove poltrone, pavimenti nei corridoi , nelle camere, bagni nuovi, nuovo centro termale e tanti altri Restyling. Conoscendo bene l’isola, e gli hotel 4 stelle che abbiamo frequentato, rispetto alla media l’albergo ha grandi spazi, sia comuni, ma anche grandi camere con veri balconi che affacciano su un meraviglioso panorama. Spesso si incontrano camere piccole e balconcini dove a mala pena ci si puo sedere; Non è il caso dell’Alexander. Ottimo il personale, reception , bar ,ristorante e piscina ,tutti disponibili a soddisfare le esigenze anche dei piu piccoli. Posizione praticamente perfetta, sul mare e allo stesso tempo sulla via principale di Ischia Porto. 2 note negative, pre restare obbiettivi; 1)La piscina scoperta dovrebbe ricevere maggiori cure, con piu pulizie settimali, io addirittura ricordo che la stessa veniva pulita tutti i giorni e svuotata del 30%. 2)ristorante , qulita e quantità non quelle di una volta. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, a mio giudizio uno dei migliori 4 stelle dell’isola. Ci ritorneremo.
