All modern shopping conveniences are within a 10 minute drive around town. Use the home for a home base as you explore the greater area. West on the Blue Ridge Parkway will take you into Cherokee. From there you can either take your adventure northwest into Smokey Mountain National park, Clingmans Dome, and Gatlinburg Tennessee; or head toward the Tail of the Dragon, which is 50 miles southwest.East on the freeway will take you into Asheville in about 30 minutes. Or you can choose the relaxed scenic drive on the Parkway to Asheville. The Blue Ridge Parkway provides access to many hiking/biking trails along with rivers and waterfalls.
