Only a 30 min drive to Chattanooga and all the city has to offer. The screened back porch features a dining table and views of the property. Deer, turkey and an abundance of birds frequently visit the backyard. Roast marshmallows in the firepit and look at the stars away from city light pollution. The large yard has plenty of room to throw a baseball or play football. Cloudland Canyon, Pigeon Mountain are both close by with hiking trails and waterfalls for you to enjoy. McLemore Golf Course, with the best finishing hole in America is a short 20 min drive up lookout mountain. The interior of the home has been renovated with guest comfort and convenience in mind. Both bathrooms feature walk in showers. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook a large meal or make a nice cup of coffee. High speed WiFi is available to stream of all your devices. The large screen TV in the living room allows all seats to enjoy the show. Private tours of the neighboring farm can be arranged for little ones (or those young at heart) to see horses, cows, goats and chickens up close. PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE 7 BEDROOMS AND 4.5 BATHROOMS IN THE LODGE! Also available are the auxillary house (3 bedrooms/2baths/sleeps 8) and the Barn house which sleeps 4, has 2.5 baths, and a non-kid game room. Both of the houses are 500 feet from the lodge at the bottom of the ridge with a driveway going to them.THE AUXILLARY AND BARN HOUSE HAVE ADDITIONAL FEES AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN BOOKING PRICE. Please talk to Jon if you would like to add either or both houses for your group. We can sleep 32 people in beds with all 3 houses. The lodge can sleep 20 people in beds and there is plenty of room for everyone. The 2 adjacent great rooms provide lots of options for tv watching, gaming, conversation, or just relaxing by the fireplace. The 2,200 sq. ft of open area on the ground floor is perfect for connecting with family and friends. During the summer season we only book by the week from Saturday to Saturday. The 2 kitchens provide lots of options for the cooks and chefs as well. The larger kitchen has a gas oven, convection oven, and convection microwave oven as well as 2 full sinks,dishwasher,XL fridge, and lots of countertops for preparation. The smaller kitchen has an electric stove, XL fridge, dishwasher, full sink, washer/dryer, and more countertop areas. There are 2 full-size dining room tables and seating at the bar in the larger kitchen/dining area as well. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 full bath and a 1/2 bath as well. These rooms all have queen beds in them and give our guests who don't want to climb stairs the option of not having to while still being able to access the great rooms. Upstairs there are 2 huge master bedrooms that each have king beds, sitting areas, bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, and walkout balcony decks with gorgeous views. There is also the bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds and also a loft area with a very comfy futon and Thomas the Tank Engine track set for the younger train enthusiasts. At the top is the tower bedroom which has incredible views in all directions and has a full bed in it. The lodge has over 2,500 sq. ft. of decks and porches so no matter what time of day it is you can find some shade or sun to relax in a rocker or chair. The covered front porch is great if it's raining to listen to the rain on the metal roof or to watch the sun set over Lookout Mountain. The back screened in porch is awesome to enjoy birdwatching or listening to the sounds of nature. The enclosed porch has the foosball table and sauna and outdoor game equipment and the 3 balcony decks are great for a morning cup of coffee to start your day. The large side deck has incredible views year round as you can see to the end of the cove. The back patio has the hot tub and leads to the 36 ft inground pool that is exclusively for your use. The pool is the place to be for all ages either wearing out the young ones or relaxing for the older ones. Also in the back is the fire pit and outdoor fireplace which provide endless hours of memories while relaxing and roasting marshmallows. There are 3 acres of front yard space for kids to roam and play games as well as the woods to explore. Take a mile hike on the property that goes through the woods and across the lower pasture to Chickamauga Creek which is on the property. The creek is 30 feet wide and usually is only a few feet deep. The kids love to play in the creek and look for animals and their footprints. Also, searching for arrowheads is a popular endeavor around the creek as well. The Lodge of McLemore's Cove is a custom built 6,000 square foot log home that has many unique features that will make your stay memorable. The 28 ft. cathedral ceilings and the massive 10 foot front doors are a glimpse into what is in store for our guests. Gorgeous mountain views in all directions and unheard of privacy make this a place that seems to have been untouched by time. The Lodge sits atop a ridge with Lookout Mountain 2 miles to the west and Pigeon Mountain 2 miles to the east and the end of the McLemore's Cove 5 miles to the south. The early risers can watch the sun peek over Pigeon Mountain and everyone can watch the beautiful sunsets over Lookout Mountain. And the best is yet to come as once the sun sets the spectacular night sky puts on a show that is breathtaking. Here you will find all the amenities for prepping and cooking a meal, as well as a large island, a dining table for 8, a piano, and a seating area. Just off the seating area, you have access out double doors to a small patio with a table and 4 chairs.Bedrooms/ Bathrooms:From the living room, continue down the hallway to the first bedroom on the right featuring a dresser, smart TV, and Queen bed. Next is the shared bathroom with shower and plenty of towels and washcloths. Continuing down the hall, the left side opens to two separate rooms: a small kids area with a desk, bean bag chair, and bookshelf with games and puzzles (can fit a pack-n-play or small crib mattress); and another Queen Bedroom with a dresser, smart TV, closet, and Daybed w/ trundle in the Galaxy Room.The end of the hallway features the large primary bedroom, with a King bed, Queen sofa bed, large walk-in closet, desk, smart TV, outdoor access, and private bathroom with soaker tub / shower combo, and farm acreage views.Kitchen:The large kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, a stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee pot, kettle and french press, toaster, toaster oven, crock pot, cutting boards, seasonings, and leftover containers.Outdoor Gameroom + Firepit:The Center of the barn is an open area equipped with a ping-pong table (not professional grade), a cornhole set, a dart board, and a ring-on-a-string game. There is a seating area, a kids picnic table, and kayaks (used with additional permission only), and a Firepit area just outside the back of the barn.Guest accessPlease stay out of the horse stalls, but feel free to use anything in the gravel area. You are welcome to walk the property at your own risk. Be diligent of covered sink-hole places near the wooded, rocky area as you walk towards the creek. Please ask about fishing or using the kayaks on the creek.Other things to noteParking:There is plenty of parking for up to 6 cars as you arrive down the long gravel driveway to the barn. There is enough space in the covered barn to park 2 cars, or leave open for game/activity area.Fields:There are several acres of open fields that are perfect for family photos. Please be friendly to Ricky, the white barn cat you see roaming the property. He owns the place, and we are all guests on his property.Barn Vibes:Do not be surprised if you spot a bug or animal of some kind. We do maintain regular pest control, but this is a barn in an open field, so we encourage you to maintain expectations with that understanding.Neighbors:Please do NOT venture further down the gravel driveway beyond gate, behind the property. That is private property, and there is no trespassing.Parties:No parties or events over 12 people. Located in a charming small town, with boutique shops and several great places to eat, it is also only 12 miles (or 25 minutes) to downtown Chattanooga, where you can enjoy many family/tourist activities (including Rock City and Ruby Falls!) and FABULOUS restaurants! The cottage can sleep several, and is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.The spaceThis is truly a storybook/fairy-tale cottage and decorated with loving attention to detail! It even has a spinning wheel!It has a small kitchen, small dining area , 2 nice decks and a front porch, and a campfire pit . It has a bedroom downstairs with a full bed, a fold out bed in the, living room with flat screen tv w/cable, luxurious bathroom with vintage claw-foot tub and separate shower, upstairs has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a 1/2 bath across the hall from the another bedroom that has 2 full-size , built in captain beds. The stairs going upstairs are a bit steep, but good handrails and a gate (that latches) at the top.Guest accesscottage - with fire pit If the barn isn't occupied/rented, you are welcome to walk down to the renovated, event barn and visit the goats and miniature horse.Interaction with guestsSomeone from our family is always around our 40 acre farm adjacent to the cottage property.
