"Stayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay."

"An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde. They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass. There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk."

"Room was clean and spacious. We requested for smoke-free treatment and the room had no smell of smoke. Good variety of Chinese dishes at breakfast, will be nice to have more porridge options. 特别感谢前台主管李晓琳热心帮我们解决问题。We would specially like to thank the front desk staff Aileen. We encountered some issues charging our EV and she went the extra mile to solve our problem."

"Khách sạn nằm ở trung tâm thành phố, rất thuận tiện cho việc ăn uống và mua sắm. Mặc dù lối vào khách sạn trông nhỏ từ bên ngoài, nhưng khi bước vào bên trong, quầy lễ tân theo phong cách châu Âu rất đẹp và tạo ấn tượng đầu tiên tuyệt vời. Nhân viên lễ tân cũng rất thân thiện, chu đáo, kiên nhẫn và sẵn sàng giải đáp mọi thắc mắc, điều này rất đáng khen ngợi. Phòng sạch sẽ và gọn gàng, có nước nóng 24/24. Mặc dù các tiện nghi trông hơi cũ, nhưng chúng rất sạch sẽ. Tỷ lệ giá cả/chất lượng hiện nay rất tuyệt vời, và tôi rất khuyên bạn nên chọn khách sạn Sofia Hotel khi đến Thành Đô!"

"Hotel is modern and location is in the centre of Chengde. Close to all amenities and the daily night market is just a short 2 minutes walk. There is a great supermarket next door as well. Room is spacious, clean and with voice enabled room controls. Front desk is very helpful and even help us find an English/Chinese speaking tour guide. Strongly recommended to stay here."

Bữa sáng được phục vụ tại Chengde Banquet trên tầng 4 Bữa sáng rất phong phú, bao gồm cả hoành thánh và mì mới nấu. Ngoài ra còn có phòng tập thể dục tuy không lớn nhưng phản ánh sự đầy đủ về cơ sở vật chất của khách sạn và cũng có thể đáp ứng được nhu cầu của đại đa số khách du lịch. Dịch vụ lễ tân rất chuyên nghiệp và thân thiện, bữa sáng miễn phí cho trẻ em. Qua đây tôi xin chân thành cảm ơn khách sạn và chúc hoạt động kinh doanh ngày càng tốt đẹp hơn!"

"The hotel location is strategic; many shops nearby the area. Apart from that, it's newly renovated with a huge size bedroom. It has a comfortable and clean king size bed with toilet, washroom and sink; all separated. We can open 3 pieces of luggage at the same time! Furthermore, it's a modern hotel embedded with robots to control the lighting, curtains, etc... The receptionist even arranges for a robot to deliver us a shower cap and bath towels (very advanced hotel). On the final day, the staff even called didi to fetch us to the airport, complimentary service. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and definitely chose this hotel again if we were to visit Chengde again although the breakfast is not fantastic but it doesn't matter to us. Recommend to stay!"

"Love this place ! Stayed 3 separate times. Once last year and twice this year. Nicest hotel so far in china I’ve been to. Honestly can’t beat this hotel for the price. I went before the 7 day holiday and during it. Was way more expensive during it but still amazing Modern, friendly, great bathrooms, customer service and an insane breakfast Wife mentioned we are repeat customers and they gave us free spa coupon which was great."
