Santis - Das Hotel

We stayed as this hotel one night. The package for two included included dinner, breakfast and aable car ride to the top of Saentis mountain. The experience from start to finish was fantastic. We paid a little extra to reserve a parking space in the hotel garage but could not see our name/reservation in any of the spaces. Mentioned this at the reception who told us we could use any space that was not already reserved. We had a spectacular view from our room which was very comfortable and had everything one might need including slippers and dressing gowns which would be useful if using their spa facilities which we didn't but is also included in the package. We arrived too early for check-in (15.00) so took the opportunity to take the cable car up the mountain (10 mins ride). The 360 view is breathtaking, as is the whole area around the top which is amazingly well planned for all visitors with lifts or stairs to all floors: young, old, disabled. Dinner in the evening was a set menu which was very good, as was the breakfast buffet in the morning. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel and visiting the mountain if you can.

We loved this property. It was so serene. The wellness center was perfect for the end of our European holiday. Would highly recommend. The only recommendation (albeit very minor) I would have for the hotel is to offer some meal options that are a little more healthy/simple. But other than that, we absolutely loved our stay.

This was our third visit to Santis, and the experience was great as always. We love that the location is quiet and nature-oriented in both summer and winter. The staff is friendly, the service is good, and the rooms are comfortable (not sure we cared for the see-through curtain separating the bathroom though)... but the view .... the view is just amazing. A special treat is a breakfast on top of the mountain at no additional charge (presuming you have a cable car ticket). We had a half-board package and - due to diet restrictions - the hotel worried we may not have enough choice from the set menu and they allowed us to choose from the main menu as well. So considerate --- and the set menu actually had more than enough options for us. The regional dishes are particularly nice. It is not a question if we will be back for our fourth visit. Just a question of when.

The view from the room was breathtaking and the complimentary treat was a welcomes surprise. Additionally, the town of Appenzell nearby is beautiful and welcoming. The only minor issue with our stay was that the coffee machine near the reception area was out service. Wish there was at least a hot kettle to make tea as the room does not include one. Lastly, use of wellness area was an additional fee, and based on the description alone, we did not think the cost was worth it. Maybe on a future trip we would revisit this. Overall, the Hotel is a wonderful option for those wishing to view the top of Säntis or explore the Appenzell area.

Booked hotel in June 2021 only for hotel to not honor their published rate. I thought i was protected by ********* guaranteed pricing policy but Agent Ben only gave non-viable options for other properties. Not even in close proximity to original destination. Also lied about guaranteed rate policy/protection. And saying the company is no longer a partnered hotel because they ended their contract. Hotel is very much still available. In the end, definitely ruined a great family experience and no remedy or consideration for their failures.

We had a wonderful time again at Säntis - das Hotel. Very nice employees, wonderful service, and a beautiful landscape. The rooms were nice, and the restaurant was to be recommended. Perhaps too much so, the food was very delicious!

Always nice to go up there in Schwägalp, the landscape stunning and the hotel is lovely. Friendly staff. Our Säntis Suite was really nice, cleaned, large, high ceilings and the view. The restaurant is a nice place to eat, good food. Also a nice souvenir shop in the hotel building.

Wir haben ein Wochenende im Hotel Säntis verbracht welches wir in bester Erinnerung behalten. Super schönes Zimmer, sehr nettes Personal im ganzen Hotel, feines Essen und ein Frühstück auf dem Säntis am morgen..;) was möchte man mehr noch… Danke für alles und wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Auf Anhieb willkommen gefühlt. Durchs Band nettes Personal - vom Empfang, RaumpflegerInnen und im Service.Hatten ein Standard-Zimmer, welches sehr sauber und gepflegt war. Sehr bequeme Betten. Wellness-Bereich vorhanden und auch dort tiptop! Sehr empfehlenswert!
