There is only one positive thing about this hotel: Its location is unbeatable.
Other than this, the hotel needs urgent upgrading.
The front staff (those wearing white shirts) seemed demotivated and unkempt.
The manager (who is smartly dressed in a black suit) is friendly and helpful though.
I was greeted by an aged corridor with peeling rubber mats and leaking ceilings, with water puddles everywhere.
There were patches all over the ceiling in the room itself, especially in the bathroom.
I wanted to watch the TV but could not find the remote control, only to "discover" it was hidden out of sight behind the TV at a blindspot.
On the second evening, when I returned after a long day out, I could not gain access to my room with the cardkey.
Front staff explained that it was wrongly programmed that I was staying just 1 night and my status was "checked-out".
But I had booked for a 3 nights stay, which was clearly written on the cardkey holder!!
And then when I finally managed to open my room door, I was shocked to find that it was not cleaned!!
When I wanted to call the reception, I found the room phone was not functioning so had to go down to the ground floor.
Front staff "explained" that the hotel no longer make up the rooms since 3 years ago, due to manpower shortage,
They will only make up the room upon guests' request - it was absolutely baffling to hear this.
The common washroom is located on the Level 1 which has no lift access. I had to walk up flights of stairs and tread across deemly lit passages (felt creepy) with unwanted stuff strewn on the sides.
THIS HOTEL BADLY NEEDS AN UPGRADE!!
