The overall experience was pleasant but not without some rough edges. Spent twelve days here in May with my wife. Let's get the cons out of the way: this property is dated and in dire need of refurbishment. Rooms and common areas are tired and worn down, but well-maintained and clean. The vast majority of beach villas are not where I would want to spend my Maldives vacation—the major problem being access to the sea and the state of the beach. Be aware of about five large concrete structures resembling the letter Y, evenly spaced in front of most beach villas, that stretch about forty meters from the coast to the sea. In all marketing materials, these are discreetly airbrushed from the pictures. Only a very few beach villas are spared from this eyesore. Water villas are a much better option when it comes to sea access and views. Since this is a really small island, a few rooms are in close proximity to the kitchens and generators, which are noisy and may be bothersome. Also, be aware that absolutely all rooms here are conjoined (two rooms in each structure). The wall between the rooms is thin, which is not a problem when occupied by two couples. However, one family with a small child next door can ruin your holiday. The drinking water provided in rooms in glass bottles is flat-out undrinkable (it's salty!), but they provided regular bottled water upon request for the rest of our stay without any issues. As mentioned above, this is truly a small island, so the activities are extremely limited—especially in bad weather—not that this is a con, just a mere statement of fact. Now to the bright side: based on hardware only, this place lacks the usual wow effect of five stars. However, it is the staff and service that complete the experience, and let me tell you: this was a five-star stay. The vast majority of staff were excellent—effective, friendly, professional, and observant. An absolute pleasure to interact with. Oh, and the food. In a word: perfection. Chief Chef Prakash and all the servers went out of their way to make the dining experience incredible—the buffet was not missed at all. Massages were superb, although the pricing was on the high side. Housekeeping was prompt and precise. Minibar service was spot on. In general - all our requests were realized promptly and without hesitation. And lastly, the house reef: stunning. Just stunning. Snorkeling here is a must. Even if the sea is rough, the lagoon has surprisingly a lot to offer. In conclusion: this isn't a place for everyone, but it worked for us. We are a European couple in our late 30s, and we were actively looking for a more private, boutique island experience. We blend well with other cultures, enjoy snorkeling, good food, and secluded locations. We would like to extend a special thanks to these members of the staff who made our stay really special: Chief Chef Prakash, servers Arusham, Imali, Sajanie, Suma, housekeeper Rasel, and last but not least, the bartender from Sri Lanka wh
