Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa and Beach All Inclusive Resort - Couples Only

We spent a week at Sandals Grande and could not have asked for a better experience. The grounds are beautiful, the food is great (only had 1 meal the entire time I wasn't impressed with), our room was above and beyond what we imagined (rondoval butler suite) but what really made it magical was the staff. Our butlers were Amos, Bailey, and Trancha. They were all so kind and went above and beyond with little and big touches. After an excursion that they knew was a long and dirty day, we arrived back to our room with a bubble bath drawn and decorated with flowers. Anything we needed or wanted and even surprises we didn't ask for were all delivered with smiles and friendly conversation. Otis, a bartender at the quaint bar tucked in the back, won me over with his care of the cats that roamed around. Zachary, another amazing bartender kept the espresso martinis flowing as well as wonderful conversation that was insightful and genuine. Remi at the beach bar was funny and greeted my husband by name even off duty. Ruben, a hibachi chef, had us rolling with laughter during our meal. Francine, a server at the pub, handled a small snafu (at no fault of their own, they literally got slammed with about 40 guests, a few of whom had overdone the drinking, in a 5 min period) with such kindness and concern even amongst the chaos. The nighttime entertainment was very good and I feel horrible that the only performers name I can remember is Sparky, but how could you forget the human dragon. The singers were all phenomenal and the dancers impressive. We caught the fire and water show as well as the Saturday night beach performance and regretted not making it a point to see more. I wish I could shout out every single person who was working there for their friendliness and good spirits. We had read some reviews where people criticized the staff and all I can assume is that you get what you give. A simple please and thank you or good morning go a long way. We definitely saw other guests being rude and demanding, but even then they were still met with smiles and prompt service. While on our vacation we did a few excursions. JJs speed boat took us around the island, to the volcano and sulfur springs mud baths, snorkeling and a lunch at a local restaurant. Be careful with the rum punch though. We also did an ATV tour through Anasi tours. Our driver to the tour was amazing and taught us a lot about life on St Lucia. The tour itself was incredible and we saw so much beautiful scenery and ate some of the best mangos of my life. The party nighttime cruise was an absolute blast and even had me dancing with my old bad knees ha. Renting jet skis was so much fun. One tip, venture outside of the gate and have a meal at the Tasty Parrot to eat delicious local food. We also met a lovely couple who have been to this resort over 20 times and after our stay we can see why. I don't know when but we definitely will be back again.

I don’t know what you should expect from a luxury branded 5* holiday resort but I expected more than I got from Sandals. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the resort and the experience, the grounds were immaculate the staff amazing but the rooms and decoration were a little dated and shabby. In our room, the coving was cracked, the railing on the balcony was loose and the glass tiles where the shower screen was attached were cracked. Like our room, the decoration in the main buildings was also lacking, windows with broken/missing locks, fans not working, lights out for example. There was nothing major but lots of small items which could be quickly and easily sorted out but that tainted the experience. Walking through the gardens on the other hand, was a joy, the grounds staff trimming and tidying every day, so much colour so well presented. The daytime dining was fabulous, with beachfront options available. We loved getting a cup of tea and a pastry from Josephines in the morning and going down to the beach to enjoy them. Lunches at Mariners or Dinos were good with quality food just off the beach In the evening there are many good options and some not so good The Bombay Indian Restaurant looked amazing and the service was great but the quality of the meat and the flavours of the food were not as good as we expected. The same can be said of dinner at Toscaninis, the food looked and tasted like it had been on the pass for a time and had dried out. The service was slow but the location and a**osphere was lovely. Breakfast was so much better. Bayside, on the other hand was fantastic, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, it had great food and service, with many international offerings to enjoy. Kimonos was a fab Hibachi dining experience, the chef was entertaining and the food amazing, and so much of it! All this set in a stylish, high ceiling restaurant. Soy, like Kimonos was a fab experience, good food, well prepared and served with style in a classy setting. Gordons was a high class experience, dining on a pier in the bay. The food was quality dining in a great a**osphere, the staff were friendly and mostly the service was good. Certainly a quality experience to dress up for. The bars were awesome with talented and knowledgeable staff always happy to please. I cannot praise the people at Sandals highly enough, both front of house, service and landscaping, everyone was friendly and quick to greet us with a smile and a hello. We had the candlelit dinner on the beach at which I proposed to my partner, the photographer was brilliant and the meal superb. Having said that, we did find that the resort photographers could be a little intrusive, we tagged them as “The Paparazzi!” As for the no tipping rules, well clearly some of the guests make a mockery of that idea, we saw many times where staff were openly tipped and this was not discouraged. We saved long and hard to experience the luxury that is Sandals but, for us, it fell short. As I said

Food, ambiance, and service were all exceptional! Best restaurant at the resort by far! As vegans this was by far the greatest for options - especially the dal makhni and banana kofta curry. Family style dining was great for ordering several flavorful dishes to try!

ROOM WITH THE PARKING LOT VIEW. So very very disappointed in our room and view. What ever you do, do not choose the ocean view rooms unless you want to see the staff parking lot and then past that the ocean. This was our 4th Sandals vacation and we have always had an ocean view room. We talked too on that same side tell us they felt like we got a bait and switch. This should have been posted with accurate pictures and should have been the cheapest rooms. We paid the higher prices for the ocean view not the staff parking lot view. When we went to the front desk we were told there was nothing we could do since they were at full capacity. I must say however the dive team and staff was wonderful! Not sure we want to book with Sandals again at this point.

Incredible stay, beautiful island, and the best staff!! We came for our honeymoon and had an incredible time. The bartenders are so sweet and try to remember your orders for several days. Claudia made the best margarita!!!! The entertainment team is the best we’ve met and try to build a relationship with all the guests. They learned our names, asked about our excursions, and overall were amazing people. We loved Yessenia, Neville, Cassius, Abby, Kelvin, and the rest of the team. The photographers were also so helpful and we got amazing pictures to show our friends and family for a super fair price. Jannick was our photographer and he did an incredible job. Thank you Sandals!!

Very friendly staff - great amenities - lots of water activities. Good entertainment in the evenings. Wide variety of food. Staff seems eager to be sure guests are satisfied. Beautiful beach. Highly recommend the Luxury Sunset Cruise and the Powerboat & Power Snorkle excursions.

We just checked out of Sandal’s Grande St Lucian and it was amazing. We stayed in the over the water bungalows and we loved every minute of it. Our butlers (Victor, Bernard, and Ellone) went above and beyond to make us feel special and ensured we had a phenomenal trip. Thank you Sandal’s for always providing excellent service and having great amenities so we can have a great trip.

This is definitely not a luxury hotel. I paid for a luxury oceanfront room and had a view of the parking lot. Management was extremely rude and said they could not do anything for us. The food is very good and the food staff was wonderful. Management and front concierge employees need training in hospitality. The ride from airport to hotel was two hours. The bus they sent for us was unable to go up the mountain. It was not a good ride at all. So if you are looking for luxury go on a dreams vacation not to sandals.

We feel very fortunate to have spent a week at the Grande Saint Lucian. Our trip from start to finish was amazing. The island is beautiful, the resort was top notch. We read some bad reviews and I can honestly say that anyone who does not rate the resort, the area, the food, the rooms, the beach, the view and the service as amazing is not someone who can be pleased. We felt like we were in paradise. The sunsets were some of the best we have ever seen and the beach was fantastic. The resort is well appointed and has a romantic vibe. We found the food the best at Soy, Bombay, Bayside and Gordon's. I even had steak and it was good! My only negative comment would be the drive but it is fine. It wasn't my favorite part of the trip but I would do it again to go there. The fight for shade is also a problem. One day we had a butler remove our belongings to another area. We weren't impressed. I felt that the island, the people and the resort were one of the best we have ever been to. There were so many repeat travelers that say this is their favorite Sandals. We can see why!
