Durham Serviced Apartments

First of all, there’s an extra $100 bond you are required to pay upon check-in even if you’re just staying the night and it doesn’t get refunded straight away after you checkout. They advise that it will take up to 5 or more business days to reflect back in your bank account. There’s street parking available but good luck finding one and there is an extra cost for parking. There’s no facility in the building so you’re just paying for the room. It’s very noisy, especially in the morning due to construction sites in the building next door. The room size was decent but the setup is quite off.

Within 400m of the Glenelg beach front....so clean and large apartments and so well priced. The front staff were welcoming and so helpful - they made our one night stay perfect...and were happy with a slightly early checkin. Good facilities...seamless checkin...and so so friendly staff

March 2024 Here is a list of issues you may have to deal with: 1. Lights are weirdly wired. You can’t turn on the bathroom lights without having the rest of the lights on. This is problematic when one is sharing the apartment and one needs to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. Other guests staying at the apartments had the same issue. 2. It is stated that the apartment has Netflix but it does not work. When I mentioned it to the marketing girl she said she would have it looked at but no one came to the apartment to repair the problem. Again, other guests staying in the apartments had the same issue. 3. When we arrived on the 13th, there was only one tea bag instead of 2. I was sharing the room with my husband, that is not thoughtful, obviously we would have needed 2 teabags. 4. We stayed 5 nights and only had the room serviced once. I had left the tag to service the room but it was only done once. 5. On the Saturday our room was finally serviced but they did not replenish the toilet paper and we were left with none which meant we had to purchase toilet paper as there was no one in reception. If conveniences and service isn't important to you then by all means stay here. The apartments are just off the main road that have lots of great cafes and restaurants. The apartments are brand new, fresh, clean and modern. The staff are helpful and listen to concerns you may have. Read less Tip: An apt description for this place is Location, Location, Location. Staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. The apartment was very clean, and is in a great location.

Wouldn’t stay again for the price, could get better value for money elsewhere. However is very conveniently located. Emailed twice & called once in the week leading up to arrange parking but was never able to make contact, when we arrived there was none available so had to find parking each day. When we were able to get parking on the final day someone else was in our allocated park. For a new facility the room was not as clean as you would expect - hair & other visible residue on skirting boards in bathroom and hallway, marks on walls. Carpet not vaccumed . Glasses & dishes in cupboard unclean. Towel rack already broken & coming off wall. ‘Premium bedding’ had small mould spots visible & had obviously had long term use, would benefit from being replaced. Only tv was in the lounge area with a very small & uncomfortable couch. Tv near bed would have been great, or at least a couch that was comfortable enough to want to sit on. Tv was not connected to internet so no access to streaming services as was advertised. Key drop off box was not large enough to put garage remote in so had to leave on counter early in the morning & hope no one took it. Overall was really disappointed with what we got for the money we paid.

Great location, within walking distance to beach, transport and food. Room was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed for two nights last week and there’s not much to dislike about this place! The location couldn’t be better, right amongst all the attractions, restaurants, beach, pier and public transport. You can walk to everything no need for the car! Parking underneath the building if you do have a car. The apartments are brand new, have a well equipped galley kitchen with stove, microwave, full sized fridge, toaster, kettle and all the implements to prepare a simple meal. All facilities are modern and barely used. Beds firm & comfortable with nice linen. There’s even a washer/dryer in the bathroom, very handy for travellers. Our only complaint was that the air conditioner is synched in with the balcony door (so you can’t leave the balcony door open and the aircon running) but ours switched off even if we just went in or out of the balcony door and closed it behind us. Every time! Was most annoying. Would also like to see a screen door on the balcony so you can let in fresh air but not the mozzies and flies. Otherwise excellent!

The property is new so of course had teething problems, our power point in the kitchen didn’t work. The way the light switches worked and connected to each other was a little confusing and the aircon shuts off or you can’t turn it on when the balcony door is open. It was nice to have the room serviced each day with new towels and the bed made.
