This is an utterly amazing place to stay. It's about a 10-15min walk to the river bars, but don't let that put you off. Sat on the docks, this ex wartime submarine factory has been fantastically renovated, keeping it's sense of history. On the ground floor is a very hip food court/ entertainment space, with cuisines from around the world (absolutely delicious, but note it closes at 10pm). This place really was a hidden gem and felt a bit like Media City in Manchester. The apartment style lofts were well equipped, modern and clean. There's an extra double bed on a mezzanine, above the bathroom & shower area. Not for the faint hearted though, as access is via a submarine ladder! I'd highly recommend this hotel, despite the very short walk from the centre, you do see sights you wouldn't see if staying in the centre. Little parks, river bridges, public art and communities. The docks too are really interesting to see and played a major part in Gdansk's history.

Unique rooms in an amazing building. The size of the rooms and the heigh ceilings gives a very special atmosphere. The food hall on the base floor is vibrant and makes this a really unique place to stay. Short walking distance to everything you want to see in the city.

We were very happy here. Huge rooms comfortably equipped, ground floor with many self-service restaurants, excellent breakfast and great location. The World War II museum is just around the corner, as is the Solidarity Center and the shipyard (you can climb one of the ship's cranes). The main train station, from where you can take the suburban train to the spa town of Sopot, is about 15 minutes away on foot, and the center of Gdańsk is about 15-20 minutes away. There is a lot to see here. And I'm not even talking about the fact that it's the most stylish accommodation we've ever been to. This place is absolutely stunning. It’s an absolute must try. The food market below is also excellent. Even though downstairs gets very busy it’s a great experience and once you’re in the hotel you realise it’s all sound proof so you don’t hear a thing from below. It’s very secure too. Only hotel guests can access the hotel part via the food market. Great hotel with a beautiful design. Good location. Loved the cool vibe , rooms are so clean feels like they haven’t been used before.

Friendly staff, excellent apartment. Food court on ground floor is a real bonus with so many styles to choose from. A very interesting historic building which has been given a new direction in it's life to great effect. Location is convenient too ,only a 15 min walk into the old town of Gdansk. If travelling with young family probably worth checking on bed layout as ours had a very high up bed, on top of the bathroom , accessed via a steep submarine style ladder, great fun but might cause a few worries for some. All in all, highly recommend, would stay again.

we had a really good stay at Montownia, apartments are well located and the food hall and bars downstairs are great. Would definately return.

Big rooms, good service and a Great food court. Would totaly recomand this if you are in Gdansk.

A fantastic hotel with an interesting history. Our room was superb. I especially liked the big light and large window. The kitchen area was great. Reception staff excellent. Located only a couple of minutes from a tram stop, but we walked to most places. Gdańsk is an undiscovered gem. We had breakfast in the food hall, I recommend the French toast. Airport is about 30mins away, we used Neptune taxis they were good. Yes there are chain hotels available, but try something different you will love it!
