A new perspective to define luxury. A bit tropic and funky way of premium resort, of course: with A Style😊😊😊
The balcony, bathroom and the aisle after entrance are great spots for me and my husband.
A great hotel you must consider in Fukuoka.

After getting our rental car from Toyota Rent-A-Car Fukuoka Airport we drove to the hotel we stayed on the night – With the Style Fukuoka. I had chosen this hotel because it was only 7-min walk from Hakata Station and took only 15-min drive from the airport. But while it was in the heart of the city, it offered a resort style of space and ambience. The automatic carpark was on the backstreet behind the hotel. Upon arriving we had to go inside and ask the staff to come out and open the gate in order to park the car, which was slightly inconvenient. The parking was exclusive for hotel guests due to limited space. Completing a brief registration the staff took us to our room. With only 16 rooms in total, Room 401 was a Double Suite, the most high-end one of the entire hotel, located on the top floor. Once inside, through a short corridor and walking up a few steps was the working area, facing a large window. The 61-sqm room had a large king-sized bed, with two comfy chairs in front, to allow guests to relax with drinks and snacks while enjoying the movie or music, underneath the rotating fan on the ceiling. In the minibar all the beverages provided were complimentary, which included a bottle of sparkling wine as well as a bottle of sake apart from the usual beer and soft drinks. Right beside the TV was two basins serving as an open make-up room, and at the corner was the toilet. The key highlight was probably the large bathroom though. Connected to the room with glass walls, it had a large bathtub and a shower area, with skylight directly above allowing natural light to filter in. The room also had its own balcony, a terrace with two rattan chairs looking out to the palm trees in the courtyard, recreating the resort ambience in the middle of the busy city, and reminded guests of the stylish accommodation in Palm Springs. We then took a quick tour at the hotel. There were plenty of arts everywhere, from paintings, sculpture, to the large album showing the masterpieces of different photographers. The furniture was all neat and fashionable, having a mid-century tone and style. On the first floor there was a library where a large communal table could allow guests to enjoy reading, and further in was a seating area for guests to spend quality time in conversations. There was a side-door leading out to the garden where the restaurant ‘The Steak House’ and the Bridal Salon were located. On the other side was ‘On the Deck Bar Lounge’, with windows facing out to the poolside, which on the daytime was a café while in the evening was converted to a chic bar, with plenty of seats to accommodate 130 guests. Further in was another restaurant ‘Cotton’. The main dining room of the hotel served Italian cuisine from an open kitchen, offering both dinner and lunch service, with 80 seats. However, we did not book dinner at the hotel so could not evaluate the quality of either restaurants during this stay. After returned from a Motsunabe dinner near Hakata Sta

It does seem that With The Style Fukuoka (henceforth referred to as "WTS") draws inspiration from the "W" chain of hotels, due to the property catering to a younger, hipper demographic. It's an intimate property with just 16 rooms total, although it seems much more lively than that due to the restaurants and bar being accessible to non-staying guests (which makes this more of a hotel than a ryokan for sure.) The lighting is on the dark side, and the common areas have music piped in, and staff members are generally in their 20s and 30s. Everyone is all smiles and eager to please, although at times there can be mistakes in their order taking (at the restaurant), and in their knowledge of the local area (or lack thereof.) Otherwise, it's a pleasant place to pass the time if you're in Fukuoka. It's tucked away in a secluded area - it's not far away from the center, although it's not exactly within walking distance. The property has a garden in the center, which serves as a communal area for drinking, dining and socializing. We dined in Cotton, WTS's Italian Restaurant, which was decent but not amazing. We also had Japanese breakfast in the morning, which was also adequate but it took way too long for us to be served. We stayed in one of their Suite rooms, which - at 53 square meters - is generously sized compared to standard rooms but merely acceptable by high-end Suite standards. If you're looking for massive rooms, WTS does not have any, so please keep that in mind. The room itself was reasonably well maintained, although we would suggest they update some of the technologies and amenities, especially given their target customer. For instance, the curtains were of the old fashioned, pull-the-string variety - they really should make it all electronic with black-out capabilities. The room key is also a classic... key. How about something cooler, like face or eye recognition, if you're going after the younger clientele? Finally, we were surprised at the WiFi speeds. While it was usable, it was not exactly lightning fast - a no-no for a big city luxury hotel. On the plus side, they were generous with the free minibar offerings, and the noise insulation appeared to be pretty good.. we slept quite well here. With its hipster vibe catering to the young, fashionable and rich, it's definitely not for everyone. And as a hotel, it's a decent but not great value. Will we choose to stay here again? Possibly, but not until we've tried some of the other options in Fukuoka first.
