This is luxury accommodation in a beautifully renovated 16th or 17th C palazzo at very reasonably tariff. The hotel is in a convenient location a 15 minute walk from the Castello Estenese and Duomo. The furniture in the public spaces is high quality antiques. I especially noted the stair landing with three "grandfather"clocks. The dining rooms for prima colazione are of an elegance that I suspect was carried over from its former life as a palazzo di una famiglia importante. My room on the top floor was done in rather feminine style and had its own little spiral staircase up to it's dormer window with views over gardens behind the hotel. It was extremely comfortable and tranquil. The staff at reception were engaging and charming. They were able to direct me one morning to a are school supply shop where I was able to purchase two of the flattish and spacious briefcases that Italian primary and middle school pupils use for thir books and supplies instead of too heavy back packs. I have only seen these in Italy. The staff had to do some research and they did it quite well. I would not hesitate to recommend Duchessa Usabella Hotel to anyone with discerning taste who is visiting Ferrara

The hotel has a very special theme and a spa. My room was spacious and super clean and the breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly and nice and I highly recommend this stay. The location is also good not very far from the center and the castle.

Nothing like 5star property. Sofa was torn, floor was dirty, shower doesn’t work properly and is too small.

It was a very bad experience. Hotel staff is rude and not qualified.

Beautiful entrance hall and steps in this old palazzo.. Lovely antique furniture through out hotel, however, bedrooms could do with an update but had a comfy bed. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast average but breakfast staff very cheerful and nothing too much trouble. No bar or lounge area though. to relax further in. A 5 min walk to historic centre

No parking at the hotel. Had to park at a nearby square. No WiFi

Hotel che non può essere considerato un cinque stelle. Colazione non all'altezza delle aspettative di un albergo a cinque stelle.Personale poco professionale e poco disponibile alla necessità dei clienti(alla mia richiesta di chiudere la finestra della sala della colazione,mi è stato risposto che la potevo chiudere,cosa che ho dovuto fare mio malgrado).Mio marito non è riuscito per buona parte del pomeriggio a parlare con la reception al telefono,(reception che vanta un servizio 24 h/24h)alla fine è dovuto scendere lui in quanto l'addetta alla reception era impegnata in una telefonata.Un vero albergo a 5 stelle non ti fa portare i bagagli sia all'arrivo che alla partenza!Le camere sono belle e arredate con mobili che andrebbero restaurati! Il lampadario della nostra camera era impolverato.L'unico punto di forza della struttura è la sua posizione strategica
