Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon

Very nice resort island, with personnel always ready to help and always there for you. Food is impressive and various plates are served. The bars are serving very good cocktails and in the evenings there are good entertainment programs. The minus I would highlight is the activities offered, different kind of trips on the sea, but if not enough subscribers, excursion is cancelled or it can become a private one for a very high price. Also as e negative feature, the convenience store displays shameless prices, really offensive; I would understand these commercial excesses for unnecessary merchandise, but when you put a price of 50 dollars on a small bottle of sunscreen, is obvious they just want to rip off tourists.

There are honestly lots of real positives about this beautiful place but unfortunately a couple of negatives that spoilt our stay a little. We chose this resort for its reef and it did not disappoint. There’s an abundance of colourful marine life, lots of healthy coral and I got to tick a couple of things off my bucket list like snorkelling with sharks and a huge moray eel. Also a first, I saw the biggest Napoleon wrasse, bigger than me. There’s a lot of trigger fish about to avoid yet the resort only mention the Titan to be wary of. One of the divers was bitten on the shoulder in the calmer beach area whilst coming back to shore. A Picasso Triggerfish was the culprit. Came out of nowhere and drew blood through the diving suit. It is only a small fish compared to the Titan but way more aggressive in my experience and you can ignor the advice that they are only aggressive when they are mating between March and September. Maybe that used to be the time of year they defended their nesting sites but that seems to have gone out of the window. This is the 2nd December I’ve been chased by one. Several of the guests I spoke to and myself were also stung by lots of jelly fish larvae (also known as Sea Lice). Feels like sharp pins and needles all over the body. Left a rash of raised hives for a couple of days. Didn’t stop me from going back in the lovely warm sea though for more snorkelling. There seemed to be quite a few guests that were not confident in the water and I saw two standing on coral and pieces breaking off and an inexperienced diver coming in accompanied by a member of the diving team letting their legs drop in shallower water and fins knocking bits of coral off. The diving team should know better and there needs to be more signs regarding safeguarding of the coral including notices in the rooms. We stayed in one of the beach bungalows by the water sports centre. These are by far the best placed on the island and very nice. The water bungalows are not worth the extra money since you cannot access the water from them (the reason why we normally would stay in one is for direct access to the water) and there’s little to see in that area as the water is so shallow. We were well looked after by our housekeeper Moosa. We had an infestation of insects in the room one evening, a bit like flying ants and the next day the room was sprayed and all bedding changed however, 2 days later, in the early evening they were back. As we would have to vacate the room whilst it was sprayed again we opted to kill them ourselves, getting rid of over 100 of them. The same evening Moosa noticed the dead insects and had the room sprayed again whilst we were out to dinner and changed all the linen as some had got under the pillows. They had appeared to be coming from under the bed but after that 2nd spraying we didn’t have another problem. I was impressed how proactive he was even though we hadn’t reported it the 2nd time. We went to Ellaidhoo for our honeymoon in April and it was the most magical time of our lives. We were upgraded to a seaplane transfer on arrival which was excellent! Private transfer and a very short wait for the plane. When we arrived, we were greeted with a cool drink and swiftly checked in. Our over water villa was incredible and definitely worth the extra. The next few days were like being in paradise. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We were greeted by our names at every meal and given beautiful tables every time followed swiftly by 2 glasses of wine. The cocktails were delicious and very generously served. The scuba diving was mind blowing. The coral reefs are literally meters from the shore and spectacular to experience. We had lovely displays on our bed and every night the turndown service was incredible! I could not fault a single thing. The whole week was better than we could have imagined and a total dream! I took some pictures but honestly, photographs do not do this place justice. And the photos are pretty amazing!!! It’s just the most beautiful and magical island and I would recommend this holiday to anyone!!! There is shark feeding every night at 5.30pm too which is incredible to see and there are tours of the hotel and then cooking tutorials to learn how to make the local cuisine. It was honestly such a special trip and I would love to go back again!

The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious, snorkeling was some of the best! This place is very clean. You can go barefoot all day if you want. We ate at the Seanic Cafe most. The nightly buffet had many varieties. Our room steward, bartenders, and restaurant staff remembered each persons name and treated you like family.

Wonderful 100% eco beautiful island the staff so friendly and helpful. Abundance of food. Loved it. We came just to relax and chill and swim and we did just that. Would come again but the journey from Spain where we live is arduous. However we will sing your praises to everyone we know.

Absolutely perfect. Pure paradise. From our arrival to the departure we enjoyed everything. The staff is very reactive and do everything to let you feel happy. Beach Bungalows from 301 to 310 are the best. We were at 303 and it was wonderful. The reef is amazing. Well we recommand Elliadhoo at 300 %. Thanks to the team and don't change a thing. In particular Nazeer who was very reactive and didn't know what to do to make us pleased. Thanks to him.

We have just left the hotel and we are very sad to be leaving. The hotel staff work so hard and make your stay that extra bit special. We had a beach bungalow (319) and it was lovely, always kept spotlessly clean! The beach bungalows closer to the dive centre are better placed, with easier access into the water. We treated ourselves to a private dinner on the Dohni boat for our honeymoon, this was worth the money. The staff went above and beyond for us and I'd like to thank Shanuka for making our evening so special.

Uuuaaaauuu what a wonderful place,wonderful people,wonderful resort.Since we arrived the staf was so careful so educated.The girl Karina and boys at the recepsion were so kind,the room were clean and comfortable.The delicios dishes cooked by Gamunu that sugest me an azain pasta was delicious and all the staf Susil ,Shared and all others where so good.Also at the bar all there were wondeeful ,Nazeer was so kind and disponibel ,also Aselai,Muduwa,Chandnai,Naif,Dhilhari ,Samiol and the beautiful Jessica always smile to all the tourist.I am so happy that I and my family choos Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinamon and We will visit you again
