The Witchery by the Castle

愛丁堡必住的酒店！房間絕美，拍照特別出片！有大量古董感的絲絨裝飾，但很乾凈。 房間在前台對面的樓裏，去房間衹能通過樓梯，不過入住時工作人員幫忙把行李送到了房間，還送了歡迎巧克力。 早餐我們選擇了在房間裏吃，種類比較簡單，水果不甜也不是特別新鮮，可能在餐廳吃比較好。 總之還是非常滿意的，價格較高但物有所值！推薦！

My friend and I dined from the a la carte menu. We went at lunch time. Aesthetically, The Witchery is fabulous. Such a treat and pleasing to the eye. Food was decent, but way over priced for small portions. We ate oysters, completely delicious and scallops for starters, they were ok, but a bit mean only serving three scallops. I had the halibut for main, given it was £42 the piece of halibut was tiny and an additional £7 for jersey royals. My friends steak tartare was tasty,but the portion again was small. We had a lovely afternoon, but it was way over priced. The 10% gratuity added on was a bit naughty, along with the charity donation. It is far better to decide these amounts when the bill arrives, ensures better service, i think. Our service was a mixed picture, initially very good, but this cannot be said for all staff, some were not very friendly. The bill totalled £217 for two courses and two cocktails and tea for one. Think of that what you will. Michelin star prices, be warned.

The ambiance was great however the food was just average at best. For that price you would expect unbelievable food. The service from the wait staff was very good. My husband didn't like that there was a charity donation that was automatically on the bill as well as a service gratuity charge. If he's doing either of those he would like to choose who it goes to.

What a delightful stay we had at the Witchery Heriot Suite! Everything was beautiful and comfortable, so much that we truly felt like royalty! Champagne bath, sumptuous sitting room, cushiest bedding, made our night perfect! We return tonight!

Wife & I had the Semphill suite. It was so luxurious. We wished we could have had it longer than the one night. It is very expensive, though. Wife absolutely loved the jarred yogurt they served in the room service breakfast. We inquired about purchasing some directly from the makers. Courtney checked us in, and she was very nice and professional. There were so many things to see and enjoy within the rooms. Thanks!

The witchery was highly recommended by friends as a must go meal in Edinburgh. The seafood bisque was so thin, without a single morsel of seafood, and weak flavor basically tasting like broth. The scallops were nothing special, with only three pieces for a serving. The price was exorbitant for the amount of food and the quantity. The serving staff were pretentious. I've never been to a restaurant that listed the names of the Hollywood celebrities who have had a meal there right on the menu. Name dropping feels to be in poor taste.

This was our second visit to this incredible Hotel. It doesn't give Holte vibes at all. More like stepping in to a place in time that melts the outside world away. The atmosphere is spectacular, and we didn't want to leave the room. I'm glad we had no sight seeing plans. The staff are very friendly and professional, ensuring a stress free stay, and all bases covered to ensure maximum comfort. We won this stay on the Witcherys Instagram Valentines competition. Couldn't believe our luck, after falling in love with the place 9 years ago. We will most definitely be back to try another one of your stunning suites. Thank you Team.

I had seen so many pictures of The Witchery, since we couldn’t stay there, I wasn’t prepared to miss out on at least a meal here. Built in 1595, The Witchery provides the most atmospheric meal you could ask for. We didn’t have a reservation just plain luck and entered The Secret Garden for lunch. Our service, quality of food and taste of dishes were beyond expectations (which, let’s face it were high upon arrival) We share molasses cured salmon blinis and charcuterie with watermelon 🍉 followed by deer and kale champ and the Witchery seafood pie 🥧 our wine was divine and I’d love to go back for a dinner in the original dining room 🧙‍♀️🥰😋

The food here is absolutely outstanding. Staff are attentive and accommodating. I took a family member for a birthday treat and the staff surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco and a chocolate and fruit platter with a sparkler. Oh...and the wine! Beautiful.
