It was an amazing experience! New, clean room in a calm and quiet campus area. You may need a taxi to travel back and forth if you have a lot of luggage, but the hotel is still within walkable distances from the city centre.
Friendly and welcoming staff members and decent amenities in the room. Everything looks clean and not dusty. Even the mirrors are carefully wiped!
What a hotel! I'll definitely be coming back next time in Edinburgh.

This hotel was just perfect for me.
Spacious and well organised rooms with plenty of drawers to put your stuff. The only minus is that there is a narrow passage between the wall and a king-size bed, but at the same time you have a separate section in the room with a big desk, a big drawer and a cozy armchair.
Everything neat and clean.
Breakfast was delicious and served in style. You order by menu.
All the staff was super nice. Many thanks to them for creating such a hospitable environment!

The most amazing hidden gem.
Great deal for one night b&b even though it was 6 Nations rugby weekend .
The room was extremely comfortable with beautifully scented locally sourced shower gels and shampoo in the immaculately presented bathroom .
As for the staff …despite being extremely busy everyone we came across had a smile and helpful conversation . The receptionist even took us to the gate to guide us to the bus stop having printed off a timetable . Only 10 minutes and £2 into the city centre . £9 for taxi back so with the cost of city centre parking it’s a no brainer to use the free onsite parking .
Breakfast did not disappoint either and was far from ordinary and totally delicious . Sadly there was no time to sample other meals however …I we shall be back ! Very well done .

I had a fantastic time at "The Scholar" hotel and couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. Firstly, the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The facilities at the hotel were impressive as well. The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and provided top-notch comfort. The clean and well-equipped bathroom, along with modern amenities, added to the overall appeal. Additionally, the leisure facilities such as the gym and swimming pool enriched the entire stay, making it more fulfilling and enjoyable.
One of the highlights was the dining experience. The breakfast offered a diverse selection of high-quality options. I particularly enjoyed their signature dishes, which were flavorful and memorable. The restaurant staff exhibited professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, I highly recommend "The Scholar" hotel. Whether for business or leisure, it's a memorable choice. Looking forward to returning and relishing the warm and high-quality accommodation once again.

The hotel has friendly and welcoming staff. The room was bigger than I expected and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. Location is not touristy but mire suitable to whoever is in town on business or for a conference.

Okay so location can feel a little remote but actually you’re a stones throw away from a high street. Fantastic bakery called 101 bakery on Newington Road.
The room was super comfy even for a single, the bed was incredible comfy. So much so that im considering upgrading the setup at home. My room had delightful view of Hollywood park. In the room you’ve got the standard appliances, free view tv, hairdryer and ironing facilities in the cupboard. Room also comes with an extensive coffee pod setup and tea selection with some complimentary biscuits.
This all extends to front desk, super nice and welcoming. They had extended my check out to 11am before I had a sec to make an impression. Everyone was so helpful when I asked how to best way to get around town.
This all helped me fall in love with Edinburgh, I will be coming this year and when I do, I’m staying here again.
