The Four Sisters Boatel - Houseboat

Absolutely amazing time had on Camillia. A mini floating boutique experience. Perfect central location. Fully equipped and cosy for the six of us. Y family loved the stay and would definitely return. She wasn’t fazed by storm Katryns 45mph gusts. Would like to return in the summer to sip cocktails on the deck next time.

Ideal for a family of 5. With 3 cabins and a living room , there’s plenty of space . Our hosts were really kind and welcoming Lot of buses around that can bring you everywhere in the city. Don’t forget to buy the daily family pass directly in the bus!

Good location for the city and its attractions. Well equipped, clean , cosy , comfortable……would definitely stay again. There was a problem with the heating on our 2nd night which was resolved the following morning. Thanks to Udam and Natalie. Loudons is a nice place for breakfast or brunch, just 2mins walk from the boat.

Our 1st time to Edinburgh we loved city and completely loved the Boatel “wee sisters”. We were impressed with location cleanliness, warmth, cooking facilities, TV's and all the lovely touches. The whole experience was so convenient and relaxing. Well done to Natalie and her team.

Unfortunately we would highly recommend that anyone with families to approach with caution and Do Not Book this. Due to the experience and what happened, awful experience overnight, we would not recommend this hotel due to the danger posed to our family. The issue is the location of the boat, this is open to the public with zero appropriate security protections in place. We suffered a break in during the middle of the night by drunk males which started with banging on the boat, followed by breaking in and attempting the doors. We got lucky as they ran off but in the event they had other ideas, our children and ourselves could have been in severe danger. This was a ‘near miss’. Unfortunately the management of the boat declined to fully refund the stay despite the above, which is simply disgraceful. The stress this has caused since with the danger we were all put in, and hours on the phone to the booking company and is simply not worth it. In addition to this, unfortunately the owner lied to us by saying this had never happened in 15years and yet her colleague who came to clean the boat discussed that it also happened to him and his friends. Perfect location - well equipped, clean , cosy , comfortable……would definitely stay again. There was a minor electrical issue which Natalie gave us advice on and it was sorted straight away. Little noisy at night time with people returning from nights out but it didn’t disrupt sleep so not a issue for us ….

excellent communication and services from Natalie. The boat was perfect for a stay in Edinburgh and had everything your would need for a pleasant stay. Could actually fit more than 4 persons with couch and bunk-beds(kids). Toilet and bath was perfect and the heat for cold nights were sufficient. Best recommendation.

Seven of us stayed on the boat for my 50th birthday and had a fabulous time. The hosts are really friendly and let us board 30mins early. The boat is clean & the beds are comfortable with great pillows. It’s very central with a Tescos Extra 3mins away that has fresh croissants daily. A few downsides the main bedroom is very noisy, the kettle takes about 5 mins to boil, there is no toaster (the grill is tiny) The shower block is not that accessible, the key to open the main padlock on the first gate is awkward to open & the lock on the door to the shower block is a nigh**are to open we had to get a boat owner to open it for us. Saying all that I’d definitely recommend staying here.

It was an okay experience and the host was lovely. Would I do it again…probably not, purely on the bathroom/toilet ordeal. We were asked not to put the toilet paper down the toilet? There is the option to use a communal bathroom down the dock which is a bit of a trek and not the nicest. Also, we are travelling as two couples on a long holiday with big suitcases which were not easy to store and access, we should have thought this through. This boat is very well appointed with generous food supplies, it’s very cosy and is in an awesome location! Don’t wish to put people off because it is a very cool and unique experience but just be aware of the things I have mentioned. It is a magical place to stay.
