Premier Inn Dublin City Centre (The Liberties)

Great friendly staff and nice room. Was well looked after and had a grand time. Bed was really comfortable and room was cosy. All needs was catered for.

We stayed 2 nights here. Check in was efficient. The gentleman was knowledgeable about the local area and helped with directions to get to the city centre. This hotel is not central and requires a 20 minute walk to the centre of Dublin. Made our way to the room, the bedroom corridor carpets had not been vacumed for quite some time and indeed stayed in the same state throughout our 2 day stay. The bedroom itself was dusty. There is air-conditioning as you can not open windows. The seal on the shower door was black with mould. The spare pillows in the wardrobe did not have pillow case covers. In general, the hygiene was poor. The brightest part of the stay was Darren in the restaurant, we were greeted and seated promptly, the buffet was well explained, and he was friendly and efficient.

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit skeptical but luckily pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, exactly as the pictures on the website showed (unlike another hotel group operated by Premier Inn where a bigger room which you pay more for can be a "smaller bigger" room depending on the floor plan but you still pay the full cost of a normal bigger room). The full breakfast was good. One small incident with a chef arriving late for breakfast service on a day we had an early day tour booked, but it was swiftly sorted out. Again, the other hotel group operated by Premier Inn could learn a thing or two about guest experience from the genuine Premier Inn group. The hotel is also near the bus route which was convenient, across the road from Teeling Distillery and a Tesco Express at the end of the block.
