This is an exquisite breakaway, whether as a solo traveler or as couple. The location is stunning, the lodge is beautiful and the staff friendly. You can relax in your room, or go for a beautiful hike, or go horse riding (no fishing in winter). It's tranquil, and the staff are attentive and friendly. The Spa is not disability friendly (stairs) but they do offer the spa treatments in your room- so win! The lodge is comfortable and homey- well worth a visit.

Excellent break-away, scenery and service. All the staff were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make the stay even more worthwhile.

I would recommend Tenahead to anyone wanting to spoil themselves for a few days. From the welcome to the staff lighting the evening fire in your room, all were super friendly and accommodating, including the offer of hot chocolate on our return from a cold and windy hike. The setting and building are stunning, with the river outside your window. It is a very relaxing and worthwhile recharge. I would also recommend exploring the area and visiting the Tina River Falls. It is spectacular. We are going back.

One of the best hotels I have ever been to! From the moment we walken in the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcomed us with a glass of sherry. It has just snowed, the rivers were still frozen , the landscape is exceptional. Electric blankets on the bed, fireplace in every room, high quality beds and linen. I enjoyed my piece of nougat before I switch of the light at night. The food, supper and breakfast above standard, excellent food with attention to detail plating. We didn’t do anything outside, just too cold, we enjoyed the fireplace in the lounge with board games and books. Will definitely go ahead

5 Stars to the incredible setting and 360 views from floor to ceiling windows. Managing couple were friendly and accommodating and the rooms were spectacular with excellent sleep quality 4 Stars to the general service which was subdued and lackluster. Understandably using local because its the right thing to do (BRAVO!) but real training needed. Also very few wines on the very limited list were actually available (they did apologise but still not top drawer to get to that point) The effort put in by the cook was commendable and most of it was great, but I would recommend fewer courses done better (an example is the starter at dinner which was a mix of lettuce and mayo with a medium poached egg on top, followed by 2nd course which was couscous. The couscous could have been added to the main meal which was starchless....just some simple tweeking needed) We will definitely be back and for 2 nights next time.

Amazing - best value for Money. Birdwatchers paradise especially if you are looking for the Drakensberg specials. Five star dining experience with friendly staff and the most amazing view. Would highly recommend this place to everyone.
