Hellaby Hall Hotel, BW Signature Collection

Staff super friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant really good too. For the type of hotel and price of room the room was underwhelming but functional. The area it needs a refurb (in my view) is the bathroom as the fittings weren't suitable for this level of hotel. Hand rails in bath great for those who need them (I applaud them being there) but the bath needs to be bigger to accommodate these, because currently there is little space (and I'm not a big person) so you catch your arm on the rail whilst trying to have a shower - much too tight. The hook for the towel kept falling off and there was only one of them for a double room - should be at least 2! The heated towel rail nice but not big enough for 2 sets of towels to dry them properly. For some reason the sink kept filling up with bubbles when washing hands that took ages to go away for the next person. Otherwise there was adequate sockets in the room for all the 'extra gadgets' we had with us which was good. Kettle in a really odd place (in cupboard under telly) and you couldn't move it elsewhere - very awkward. Absolutely BRILLIANT treatment at the Spa though - very excellent!

Stop over on way to our family in Northumberland accommodation a nice spacious room with a good breakfast. The Valentines Dinner was tastily presented & the staff friendly & helpful

Friendly receptionist when checking in. Felt rushed to be out of room each morning by house keeping, not friendly at all. Room not hoovered, no loo roll or hand soap replaced. On the last morning we put do not disturb sign on the door it was taken off and pushed under the door. A lovely place to stay central to getting places.

The old part of the hotel is a little tired but the staff were v friendly, the pool was great, it was pleasantly quiet, the beds were v comfy and it was easy to find.

Tired hotel, spa area okay but again rather tired. Staff okay. Previous guest’s poo and skid marks in our toilet on arrival which is pretty poor.

Had a great stay. Big clean family room, great buffet breakfast and a really good sized pool. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. Wouldn stay again.

Comfortable stay. Room clean and tidy. Desk staff were lovely. Breakfast at 9 am was a let down, sausages were awful, bacon hard, cheese hard and the eggs had been out way too long sadly. Fretwell spa was lovely

free parking friendly welcome at reception nice clean room clean and tidy breakfast was good swimming pool water was cold and same for the spa water was cold not hot Maintantance is required.

Nice and clean, comfy bed and solid floor and walls meaning no noise contamination from neighbouring rooms
