Everything you would expect from Dallas, Thompson delivers! Beautiful accommodations and attentive staff, every need met.

Extremely poor front desk and management personnel. Hotel needs to be updated, furniture is worn and dated.

This hotel is at the crossroads of busiest Dallas Street where bikers constantly travel and love to make noise in between 2AM- 3 AM no matter of the weekday. On the other side there is Train and Hotel did not take steps to block the noise to provide you of a peace full environment. I understand downtown are loud but decibel levels are actually way higher even on the 17th floor, and you don't get any rest

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and gorgeous artwork. The service is exceptional. Unfortunately, the surrounding area is a bit sketchy, but it is within walking distance to many Dallas landmarks. I guess that's par for the course for any hotel located downtown in a large city.

The hotel is in a poor location. From our room on the 19th floor, we heard street racing and loud music all night. We were moved to a different room on the same floor. It was not as noisy. For the price we paid, we expected a doorman and a porter. There were none of these when we checked in. This hotel should not qualify as an Anerican Express luxury hotel

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It exceeded my expectation and the staff was extraordinary. This hotel looks like a museum with such exquisite artwork.

Huge disclaimer to this review - I think I am in a rut on my hotel choices! I need a reset I think! Punchline is please do not go here if you have children. Please! If you are a young couple go for it. This hotel is just simply so bad - I don't get it. There are some nice employees like every hotel but I am at a loss. I spent less than 24 hours here so quite the impact. We arrived and had limited time to grab a bite so the front desk recommended the pool area which sounded great because the pool looked cool in photos. The bartenders were super sweet. The pool was quite the party (so again - super fun looking for couples and groups of friends). We sat at bar and ordered an item off the children's menu and some guac and chips. It took over 45 minutes - it was insane. The bartenders felt bad - not their fault. I mentioned it later to a great guy, Nick, in guest services who was sympathetic and said they just got suprisingly overrun by guests. It happens. So then I said we were going to have dinner at Little Daisy and he said it wasn't busy and it would be great and he would call them for us. Sounds perfect. When we arrived, all was great - seated right away with a smile. Kind server. All good. We ordered promptly and got our apps fairly quickly and then deja vu - the entrees never came! Or at least seemed like it was never. Our nice server came up and unsolicited offered our food got behind a large party's food but it was working. Another 15 min went by. Finally, I said we would just take the food in our room but the server insisted it was coming and it did - close to 45+ minutes later (I lost track) after they had cleared our apps. Honestly, it was simply the last thing I needed. We took our food ourselves and walked up to our room to eat it. I think I am just snakebitten lately - it can't be possible that this is the norm in the foodservice at this property. The room is fine - decently appointed. Nothing special. Hallways are dark but fine. Windows aren't great and like a lot of US cities, there seems to be motorcycle gangs that are enjoying late night joy rides and even on the 20th floor (top floor) it was loud. Anyway - I am rambling - enjoy the hotel if you are young and hip and want to party (and are more patient than me). But if you have kids can you please try somewhere else for my sake!

My husband and I spent a weekend at the Thompson Dallas to celebrate his 40th birthday. From start to finish, the weekend was a complete getaway from our usual weekend. The hotel is thoughtfully appointed, luxurious, spacious, and interesting. Natural light is everywhere, with great views from our room. The service was impeccable; the front desk remembered my name from check-in when I stopped by with a question later. The restaurants were great - with a different vibe and atmosphere at each. The rooms were spacious. I usually expect rooms to be smaller than the pics on the website, but these seemed larger and more and even more open in person. It felt like staying in a luxury apartment with everything we needed right there. We also spent the morning at the pool, I went to the gym, and we had a couples massage at the spa. It was absolutely everything promised on the website and more, including the restaurants and Catbird Lounge. 1000% happy with our choice to spend the weekend at the Thompson.
