Crewe Arms Hotel

Stayed here for one night, super comfy single bed, pillows soft & comfy too. Room was clean. Heard no noise what so ever even though Hotel is right by a busy road & train station. Breakfast was delicious & hot. Read some poor reviews on this hotel but think that due to its location people didn’t take this into consideration.

Can’t use the hotel anymore as it’s being used to house “others”. Wanted to get a coffee in the foyer whilst we were using the charger but it was packed with fit healthy young men dressed head to toe in new branded clothing. It is closed to the public.

An historic hotel in a convenient location that provides a warm welcoming break. The staff are friendly and professional and will go out of their way to make any stay a pleasant one. The restaurant may be small and the menu not extensive but the meals were well cooked, of generous proportions and arrived quickly.

Spent a weekend here and had a good time. Arrived on Saturday by train as it is the oldest railway hotel in the country it is not a surprise to hear trains. Had a nice comfortable room with everything I required for my stay hac a couple of meals and had a catch up with the excellent staff special thanks tl the wonderful Sam and Mark for the great service.

Myself, my partner and our 2 year old stayed in August simply because it was cheap and the location convenient. We were under no illusion the low standard of hotel this would be (We’d day 2star) but circumstance meant we had to book. It’s tired, the bathroom wasn’t throughly cleaned, the room smelt old and the dark carpet I’m sure hides a multitude of sins! The main window wouldn’t close which meant it was always open onto a terraced area accessible by other rooms. All of this aside, I requested to pay for the room on arrival but had to give card details to secure. My partner paid for the room and 5 days later I was then charged £100. (Luckily I checked my statement otherwise I’d be none the wiser). I called repeatedly, emailed numerous times and almost 2 months later have finally had a response claiming it was taken as the cleaner had reported smoking in the room. It’s funny how this false accusation was not relayed any of the numerous times I spoke to the receptionist. I’m presently still waiting for the reimbursement but can only say be warned, I’d go elsewhere and if you do decide to stay, make sure you check your bank account later in case they’re also robbing you of your hard earned honest cash.

My Mother and her Friend are staying there now 6-10 the September 21. We went to visit them today and all I can say my Mum looks shattered. They were put in a corner room next to the Train Station. They have hardly slept due to tannoy announcements and trains through the nights They are both over 80 and dont have a walk in shower, so they haven't been able to shower all week. Also this week Crewe is experiencing a mini heatwave 30' during the day, the room has a radiator which they cant turn off. If they open the window it sounds like the trains are coming through the room. They have complained to the reception and they were palmed off with" the hotel is fully booked." Avoid this hotel if you are elderly or you like showering every day.

Staff were friendly and check in was quick. Noise from Crewe station is very loud I would recommend good earplugs. Bed in our room was t very comfortable and the second night was spoilt by no cold water meaning no shower toilet etc. Tried to call reception but the phone didn’t work so had to get dressed and go down. They sent a man up with a key for another room but no water their either. I would say the whole hotel is very tired looking and could benefit from a complete modernisation program. Didn’t have food so cannot comment. Will be asked for some sort of recompense when we check out.

This hotel was clean and comfortable with free parking and a good breakfast and 1 min walk to the train station. The electric vehicle charger didn't work for me but there was an Instavolt a mile or two away that worked. The BEST thing about this hotel is the staff - so welcoming and kind and helpful. The women on reception couldn't do enough to help us - they are fab.

Room was tidy enough Breakfast was OK but never served fried eggs bacon was hardly warm. Food was never great. Bar prices were a bit pricey. Staff were very good and always pleasant. ****s all over and in process of being ****ed. Of course this was outside. There was also sewage leaking from manholes round the back.
