Hotel la Casa del Califa

Enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The hotel is a renovation of several abodes on the central plaza in the old town. Extremely well located for a visit to this beautiful hilltop white village. Room was roomy and very comfortable, overlooking the courtyard and had beautiful vaulted ceilings. Would’ve stayed another night had we known it was so nice. Next time …

We have just returned from a few night at this charming and character filled hotel. The location is perfect for exploring and the staff were so eager to please and offer lovely recommendations (even on a wet day) Breakfast is a lovely Maroc / Spanish fusion in a stunning setting ~ we loved that breakfast was served till 10:30. A gem of a hotel in a beautiful square filled with the scent of the orange trees.

My husband and I stayed in the glorious Africa room for two nights. It is a large and beautifully appointed room with a large bathroom. The large photographs of African people and scenes are lovely. The staff are very accommodating and nice. We used the beautiful outside terrace and ate at the delicious and beautiful restaurant. We have been in Spain two weeks and this is the classiest and most beautiful hotel.

Very disappointed with the apartment we were allocated at this hotel having upgraded from a double room. Upon arrival we were greeted with dog excrement on the apartment doorstep which no one from hotel bothered to remove. The ground floor of the apartment contained an old well worn sofa bed and a very dated kitchen area. The bedroom and bathroom were located on a lower floor which resembled a cellar and the inclusion of a dehumidifier clearly showed them to be damp. Both rooms were very small and badly in need of redecoration. The image of a cellar was made worse by the bars on the bedroom window which looked out onto a very untidy back yard of another property. The apartment included an outdoor terrace on which there were two old sun loungers one of which was broken and both had ill fitting cushions which were filthy there was also a broken sun umbrella. Sadly apartment Asilah was nothing like the website images so don’t be fooled by photos on there. The restaurant within the hotel and its sister Tapas Restaurant were however both very good as was hotel location. Overall a very disappointing experience for us of a hotel we had read good things about and interestingly the hotel management have not responded to my email explaining our disappointment, clearly embarrasses themselves by this apartment.

This is a very classy place to stay; each room is structured around a Moroccan/Moorish theme and the hotel very effectively plays on the Moorish tradition of Andalusia. Meals are of a high standard; breakfast was fresh fruit and a choice of arabic and moroccan food. Evening meals were tagine, couscous and kebab style - high quality. This is a place where you will feel pampered and impressed

Beautiful terrace and surroundings. Excellent food. Interior conditioning and noise separation was not great.

Beautiful Moorish hotel ideally situated in the centre of Vejer. Room was comfortable and price included a very nice breakfast served on the dining terrace. Staff were friendly and helpful and overall a very enjoyable experience.

Lovely, interesting rooms. Incredibly cool views of the town and of the main square.

Excellent option if you in Vejer. Unbeatable location and full of nice details. Some equipment is a bit updated but still soooo nice and recommendable.
