I've visited the lodge several times now. The lodge is really comfy and clean, but it's the people who are the 'magnets'. Everyone makes us feel like 'old' family, they are also very helpful, and always help with our bookings for our boat adventures! We will be back!! Thanks Etta and Leona!!

This was a wonderful place to stay for our visit to the national park which we booked through the lodge. I can’t recommend it enough for their hospitality and especially the river cruise. Wonderful memories!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had our boat as well. Absolute Heaven. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were amazing. If you don’t come here, then you have not lived.

Fantastic place with a gorgeous view over the river. With awesome safari guided by Derek who gave us an unforgettable day. Very welcoming staff. The breakfast was also amazing with home made bread and an plethora of home made jam. Close to local restaurant with safe walk. Do not hesitate to stay at dungbeetle!

After a couple of years I came back to visit Addo again. I know Etta and Derek since long and staying at their place is always a great pleasure. Comfortable, quiet, equipped with anything you need and finally an outstanding breakfast ..... what else you can expect. You get plenty of good advise for your visit to Addo and the surrounding area.

Located at the south portal of Addo Park and on the bank of the Sunday River. Strategic position to visit the largest dunes in the southern hemisphere and to enter south of Addo Park. The hotel also organizes guided tours to visit the park. Hetta and her staff very kind! Excellent, varied breakfast and above all homemade bread !!

We had a wonderful short stay (2 nights) at the dungbeetle river lodge. We booked the cottage with another couple. The cottage provides 3 bedrooms and 3 bathes (one bath was closed at our stay). From the terasse you have a wonderful view over the Sundayriver. The cottage was clean and cosy, breakfast was very good (some cold cuts would have been nice) with fresh baked bread and a choice of fresh made marmelades and eggdishes. The owners are very friendly and helpful and our guide at the Addo elephant park Chris made our full day trip unforgetable. The boattrip on the river at the next day was also very nice. And the skipper showed us a fresh water source in the Alexandra dunes, that you would never expect there. Also very interesting trip. All in all two perfect days, worth each Rand.
