Russ Hill Hotel

Hotel has been taken over by home office! We were not told this in advance - all confirmation correspondence confirmed this hotel and address (booked with 6+ months notice) We turned up to be greeted by a security guard telling us to go to a different hotel. Our booking was still valid but was a big hassle and stress right before a holiday! Don't bother booking here - we stayed at the Europa Gatwick and will just book there in future.

I booked this hotel as it was closest to my son’s wedding venue. We arrived to be told that it has been closed for 2 years for refurbishment!! It’s not even open!! We got shoved in another hotel, 25 minutes further out. Fuming 😡

Awful place, refugess or asylum seekers running round, all young men, no care for other people there. A total kjoke of a place. All food was lapped up by these men who jumped qulle at will. Wont ever come back

We booked two rooms at the hotel to stay after a nearby wedding. As the wedding was starting earlier in the day before check in time I tried to ring the hotel several times to enquire about being able to check in early. There was no answer on the first 3 times I rang on different days. I rang Britannia Hotels (who own this hotel) a few days before and they advised me to ring the hotel on the morning of the booking to check about early check in as they would not know before this. On the day of the booking we went to the hotel earlier in the day. There were no staff available to check in and the hotel was clearly not open to the public. The security guards were not able to give clear answers about what was going on. We only found out that the hotel was shut and all bookings had been transferred to another hotel 15 miles away by speaking to two members of gardening staff. If we had not gone earlier in the day we would have turned up late at night with no where to stay. I am extremely unhappy that no one let us know that the hotel was closed and that our booking had been transferred. The hotel we were transferred to was too far away and so we had to find somewhere else very last minute which was difficult. Absolutely no care for customers, do not book here.
