Indigo Inn

What a charming place to stay! Very cozy!

A huge touch of Charleston charm Every minute spent at the Indigo Inn was delightful! The staff was friendly and most accommodating. A highlight was the wine/beer/charcuterie happy hour, and then warm cookies and milk in the evening…..all enjoyed in the beautiful courtyard. The rooms were decorated with pure Charleston charm. A delightful visit indeed…I will be back!

The Indigo Inn is a mixed bag. First of all let’s list the good! The staff is professional and friendly. The location is excellent. You are close to shopping restaurants and local activities. Charleston is a pretty walkable city and the Indigo Inn Is central to it all. The amenities are nice. There’s a breakfast every morning that is decent and offers a good variety for a breakfast bar. They put out a charcuterie every afternoon with wine, beer and an assortment of soft drinks. There are warm cookies at night that are delicious. Coffee and tea are available 24/7. Our rooms were cleaned each day with fresh towels and were done in a very timely fashion. There is a nice courtyard to sit in for breakfast or anytime really. Now for the areas that could use some improvement. The rooms are old and the furnishings are old. The bathroom could be a challenge if you’re a larger person. It really is a motel, not a hotel. The interior has outdoor hallways and metal stairs that go from floor to floor. There is an elevator which was helpful for our luggage. The bed was not uncomfortable but the pillows are rock are. There I is lot of storage. They provided us with an extension cord as there are not many outlets. Therooms are dark and the air conditioner is old and VERY loud. It is on a thermostat and goes off and on all night. It also could use a good cleaning. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I would ask for a room that had an outdoor window and I would also know what to expect.
