Relais Anfitheatro

We had two days at the end of a Sicily Tour and wanted to see Catania but also to recover & relax. We couldn't have chosen a better place. Very central but very exclusive and quiet. Just four rooms, which are more like suites. Anna made us very welcome, she gave us good recommendations for eating out & things to do. Nothing was too much. Our room was large, air conditioned and very smart. Two TVs, everything was complementary and the kitchen area was for our use too. Free coffee machines, juices, pastries and water. Our room had bits of Roman theatre! There's a terrace for evening snacking. The security was excellent. The lobby had original art work and the whole hotel was very chic. If you want luxury but also seclusion - then this is the place for you.

The place was amazing as it was very clean, modern and close to all that Catania has to offer. Anna was a great host during our time. As a reminder this is a B&B so there is not staff on hand but Anna made herself available at any time. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here. The hotel was beautifully presented and how incredible to be built around an Amphitheater. The room was spaces, clean and bed was comfy to sleep in. Great location close to city centre so easy to get around without a car. The hotel mini bar and offerings were a great extra. As for Anna what can I say. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome, informative and always going the extra mile to make sure we were looked after and getting the most from our experience. Nothing was too much trouble and I can’t thank you enough. If you are looking for a place to stay I would highly recommended here. My only recommendation is to switch the lounge area and bedroom around as it would be a better use of the space and give extra privacy.

The host was the best we’ve had yet in Sicily. She communicated well with us prior to and during our visit. She helped us find parking, which can be a nigh**are if you can’t understand all the parking rules! The hotel itself is a hidden gem in the middle of Catania: fairly quiet, very comfortable, and larger than expected for our family of 3. The building itself has preserved a part of the ancient Roman Ampitheater… it’s beautiful!

Our stay at the Relais Anfitheatro in Catania was superb. Our host Anna was excellent, providing suggestions on places to eat and where to visit. The property was 1st class with a fabulous room, well stock with treats to enjoy and a mini bar with juice and water that was replenished each day. Our room was spotless. Breakfast supplied at nearby cafe which I also cannot fault. Location wise the Relais Anfirtheatro was 2 mins from the main street, Via Etna, and was with walking distance to great restaurants, trattorias and shops. You must visit the local monastery when you visit (1pm is English speaking tour). Great insight into the history of the area. Relais Anfirtheatro is a great place to base yourself and tour the east of the island. Again, thank you to our host Anna who could not do enough to make use feel welcome and our stay so enjoyable.

The Relais Anfitheatro was just excellent. It’s in a great location, on a parallel street to the Main Street in Catania (via Etna). So it’s in easy walking distance to shops and the main squares. Although the street view exterior of Relais Anfitheatro might not look glamorous, once you get inside the property you will not be disappointed. It is very nicely decorated in a contemporary style. With high quality fixtures and decoration. The bathroom was modern and clean. And the room was cleaned everyday. I also found the bed extremely comfortable and had a better nights sleep that what I do at home! There is also a coffee machine in the room which was great. Along with a kettle and a selection of teas. A mini fridge and a selection of biscuits and small cakes are provided complementary each day. There is also a communal area, also with coffee and tea facilities, cakes, biscuits etc. Again, this is was all nicely decorated in a modern style. Breakfast is provided by vouchers to be used at a nearby cafe. The cafe is literally just round the corner, and have a selection of continental/Italian cakes/snacks. The cafe was ok, but it does get busy. No review of Relais Anfitheatro can be complete without mentioning Anna. The level of service and hospitality Anna gave us was just wonderful. Anna was so warm and welcoming to us. With great communication and helpfulness. If I were ever to visit Catania again, I would stay here again without hesitation.

I highly recommend this b&b. Very central, yet very quiete, on a side street off Via Etna, very clean. Anna was very helpfull. Don't hesitate booking this b&b. Minibar at your disposal without extra charge. We definitely stay here again if we come to Catania

We arrived in Catania, and had a warm reception at the hotel by Anna. We walked in to the hotel which had been built around the old Roman amphitheater. There were four rooms connected by a living area, and kitchen. We met the other lovely family staying there as well. Anna was full of excellent recommendations including a tour at the local Benedictine monastery, which is a must see. The rooms are nicely furnished, and the location in town is excellent. It was quiet, which is very important, at least to us. Brava, Anna. Hope to see you again.

We stayed 11 nights in Sicily and had 8 hotels around the island. This was one of the best hotels during our vacation. Great bed and pillows! The hotel is beautiful and probably quite new as everything was in perfect condition. The location is great as well. The donna who runs the hotel was the sweetest and there was this fellow at the property that was an absolute start helping with everything with a smile on his face always. If we ever return to Catania we know where to return! :)
