Sol Palmanova

I came in October 2023. This visit was good but not as good as October . The food overall was fine for what you pay for. In comparison to October 2023, although the day entertainment was superb especially for families and children, there was no substantial quality entertainment later in the evening due adults - it was very lame. If you are an adult you’ll need to leave the hotel to get well entertained. The main bar near Sol 2 gets huge ques and there is seldom enough bar staff on … often one .This is not acceptable as customers should be enjoying their holiday. It could be a strategy by the hotel to reduce its costs (stalling service). Overall it’s a nice place — The staff are nice ,food nice , great location but based on October I’d go back,based on may 24 I’m not sure as the adult evening entertainment was terrible, and waiting in that Q at the bar did not make me feel valued as a guest. I may research other hotels in the area as the experience was so much less enjoyable than October .

Absolutely shocking hotel, we arrived as a family and was put into a standard room with a cot, a tiny bedroom with a two year old is absolutely ridiculous for the price we paid! Food was absolutely vile couldn’t eat anything from there and we aren’t fussy! Met so many people there that had been so poorly even people that had been going over 20 years, we also hired my mum a wheelschair and the reception told us to store this in the luggage room on a night time, one morning we went to get it, it had gone! Reception had no clue and wasn’t even bothered to check the cameras, we had to ask around 4 times before we eventually got an answer and that was only because the jet2 rep was there! we also ended up so poorly here and my daughter caught chicken pox (not to blame the hotel on this part as this could happen at any time). Never again would I go anywhere near this hotel!

So I would highly advise that nobody goes near this hotel. My girlfriend and I contracted Nurovirus half way into the first week. Instead of closing the hotel, they said the virus has came from England and it wasn’t there fault, and they thought that by putting a member of staff outside the buffet with a bottle of hand sanitizer would be of any use? On top of that, the rooms riddled with cockroaches and the filth under the beds is disgusting. Horrible experience. Horrible food, DO NOT GO THERE.

On arrival our room was filthy. Ear wax on bottom of bed hairs in the bath floors hadn’t been swept went to reception to ask if they could clean again they sent someone however was still dirty complained 3 times in total then just gave up. Beds are the worse I’ve ever tried to sleep on like sleeping on a concrete slab. Room extremely small. Food absolutely diabolical had burger one night and this was raw food is always cold even if you go as soon as restaurant opens. A lot of people had complained of food poisoning hotels solution to this was hand sanitiser as you walked in restaurant. Drinks a very cheap and nasty. Definitely not a 4* maybe a 3 at best. No kettle in room either Location is good very close to beach. Staff are friendly entertainment is ok different activities on throughout the day and evening. Would not return

Avoid at all costs, we’ve been here since Monday 13th may ,food is horrendous and uncooked there’s either a horrible bug or food poisoning going round we come as a couple with a 2 year old baby and also had friends staying here every single one of us has been bedbound for atleast 3 days ,one of the nights my daughter and my partner threw up all over the bed so I went down to reception at 1am to be told I couldn’t have any sheets or any cleaning equipment,after a 30 minute battle with staff they finally give us some, also asked the staff what to do with our sheets full of sick to which they said throw them in corridor and cleaners will see them in the morning , I replied well if this is a bug or virus that is very unhygienic, staff could not of cared less just tried fobbing us off and covering the problem , overall very disappointing will 10000% never be returning

Recently stayed here. Hotel itself is nice. Pool was absolutely freezing, the sea was warmer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little on the small side. Although there is a small fridge in the room, there was no kettle or anything to make a drink when you first wake up. Food was not good at all. Mostly chicken or pork. The food played havoc with my ibs, spent a lot of time in the bathroom. As did my husband who doesnot have ibs. After the first couple of days we ate out for lunch and dinner. At breakfast we stuck with toast and cereal. Entertainment was pretty poor. Have stayed in other resorts with much better entertainment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The weather was lovely,shame about the hotel,the rooms were small and ours wasn't ready when we arrived,I stood by the coffee machine in restaurant and a cocroach ran over my foot,not a small one.My friends found glass in her mashed potato,when she pointed it out the waiter just threw it in the bin,another one of our group found a long hair in his.(no wonder as the chefs wear their uniform to work,they are meant to change at work.)There was a bout of sickness and diarrhoea, no wonder as the burgers and hot dogs were taken from the restraunt and used down the pool bar,food from lunch time was put out again and dinner, we noticed cleaning was improved,wiping of tables etc shame it wasn't done from the start,. not a lot of choice of puddings either.When we were leaving early there wasn't anywhere to get a coffee,one man had to argue to get a glass of water,and the guy from the hotel was rude and unhelpful,Wont be staying there again.

The hotel was nice, entertainment was great but the food was not good, my husband ate lots of things, he was really ill, in bed one day, throwing up for 2 days including the plane on the way home and the airport, me and my little boy only ate pizza at the restaurant but not much we eaten out the rest of our week holiday, anything I ate there I was running to the toilet, numerous people was poorly when we was there, I wouldn't go again and was glad to get home

We booked The Sol for the first time as a cheaper getaway but thought the pictures looked lovely and had ready plenty of positive reviews and feedback about the hotel. We came beginning of the month to Sol 2 as Sol 1 hadn’t opened just yet. Staff were friendly, room was small but was fine for both of us and we were on floor 4 with the bins below opposite another hotel pretty much but that wasn’t an issue as we aren’t balcony people anyway. The room did get quite hot and our air con didn’t appear to work. We reported this to reception the first few days which they said they would send someone up but they never did. We managed with the balcony doors open every night which made the room comfortable enough however this then had us woken up loudly most mornings early by the bin men/ noise outside / glass shattering and a couple of mosquito bites. We have since seen in recent reviews that the hotel didn’t actually switch the air con on in the building until after we left, that’s fine but this should have been communicated. Cleaners came in everyday which was good however they did ignore the do not disturb sign one morning when we were still sleeping after too many sangrias! We enjoyed the all inclusive drinks, the sangria on draft was lovely and we enjoy cocktails and ameretto along with branded soft drinks so no issues around that. What brought down our stay unfortunately was the food. We did find breakfast fine, we could find something to eat your typical all inclusive offerings with Spanish bacon & sausage, fresh bread, pasties, pancakes, fruit, cereals, yogurt. Cappuccinos were quite nice however lunch and evening meals were disappointing. Didn’t feel there was a lot of choice and difference between the lunch and evening meal. All the same which was mainly burger/ hot dogs, a meat option, fish option, some pasta, chips, salad bar, bread and the pizza was delicious but didn’t seem to be on every time. Now we didn’t go hungry but the food was just okay and would say the poorest all inclusive offering we’ve been to. The salad did look fresh but could have done with more options and sauces, same with the meat and cheese station and the desserts were the same. When looking at previous positive reviews with Nutella, mini sausages on breakfast, doughnuts etc, we didn’t see any of them on offer. After a couple of lunches and one evening meal in the all inclusive, we decided to eat out the rest of the holiday. Other hotels we have stopped at seem to offer ‘themed’ nights or more extravagant options alongside better desserts on an evening. We didn’t use the snack bar. The first few nights the entertainment was inside and was really busy due to Sol 1 not being open yet and neither was the outside stage area. Kids club looked good but was on for a good few hours until 21.15 so if you wanted good seats for the evening entertainment afterwards you had to sit through kids club.
