Lago Resort Menorca - Villas & Bungalows del Lago

Very nice hotel near ciudadella in Menorca. Stayed in a bungalow with friends for 4 nights : nice comfy beds, great modern bathrooms with rain shower. Kitchen is not full but very practical (microwave, fridge, freezer with Nespresso machine, kettle, portable induction plate). Parking on site. Nice patio with dining area (indoor and outdoor) Safe large enough for a laptop. Quiet surroundings (except for other guests parties :) Shared pool. Great cleaning service. Nice little harbor nearby with restaurants and some tourist stores. Overall very good. Nicer to stay at than inside ciudadela as it is quieter but also close enough to go anywhere. Felt very safe.

Really great great hotel and good location to the marina. Hotel was really clean and we got upgraded to a suite 👍 Pool area was lovely and really relaxing, we enjoyed the dj in the afternoon. Would definitely recommend 👏

Very welcoming and helpful staff, very clean and everything we needed was available. The bed was very comfortable and the bungalow was very quiet. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. There is lots to do and explore. The weather was perfect. We will return 😊

My partner and I stayed at the Bungalows for a week from 5th October on a Jet2 package. This holiday came complete with car hire but due to my age we had to change it to a coach transfer from the airport. The bungalows are self catering but you can use the facilities of the hotel right next door if you wanted to. However, the bungalows complex was so nice and quiet and intimate that we only bothered with the pool area of the main hotel on our last day. The main hotel is very impressive and the pool area very swish but we were a lot happier in the bungalows. The bungalow itself was very impressive. Large living room, 2 bedrooms, large bathroom with walk in shower that had a lovely rainfall shower head and your own private patio area with electric sun shade. The air conditioning system was quiet and very efficient, the fridge and freezer were large and excellent. Pod coffee machine, toaster, small induction hob, We've stayed at many hotels and self catering places but this was easily the best and most impressive. We read the review which moaned about ants and so I took an ant spray out with us. We never saw even one anywhere in the whole resort.... The beds were really comfortable and huge, nice pillows, ultra quiet rooms even though the bungalows are semis. Combined with the efficiency of the air conditioning, this meant we slept very well. Even though it's self catering accommodation, the maids came every day and the place was kept immaculate. They even supplied specific large pool towels to use by the smallish but perfectly adequate pool in the complex. There, there were plenty of sun-beds and sun shades and no need to reserve one at all since there are only 12 bungalows in the complex. The hotel supplies you with a wrist band containing a rfid tag to allow you to enter the complex and access your door lock. This was very useful and convenient. As I've already stated, if you want the best experience from a self catering holiday, you couldn't beat this one. The location is literally one minute from the marina, two minutes from a supermarket and a very popular restaurant run by a real character called Charlie. We ate there a number of times and were very happy with the food and prices. The resort itself is fairly small but there's a good choice of restaurants catering for various tastes. We tried the Chinese restaurant for dinner one evening and the beer was served in a glass that had been in the freezer and it was the coldest one I had all week. Other places had cold beer but nothing as good as that one (or two!) oh, and the food was pretty good too although the sizzling dishes we had splattered all over and tbh, made a mess of the table and a bit on our clothes. There is a restaurant next to the kids arcade that sells ribs and we ate there one evening. Now, I can eat ribs anytime, like TGI Fridays back home where I'd have a full rack. Just returned from a wonderful relaxing week in one of the villas. We stayed in Villa 4 which was clean and comfortable. The villas are in need of some small minor repairs but it is end of season and I believe they are about 9/10 years old. Our villa was showing signs of its age. A little refurb would do wonders, bringing in more of the eco vibe in colours/furnishings. The villa would also benefit from having an outdoor BBQ. What we enjoyed the most was the spaciousness of the outdoor area. The pool was perfect and the views stunning, looking out over Cala’n Bosch marina. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning from either the terrace (well equipped with seating) or our bedroom. The villas are part of Grupo Moga who own the Casas Del Lago and Lago Suites hotels along with a number of food and beverage establishments in the marina/cap d’Artrutx. We visited Thai Garden, La Fontana, Med Bar and the Sea Club during our stay. Would rate all of them 10/10. One thing that did disappoint was the Med Bar’s entertainment. It would have been better if it did not constantly show football or other kinds of sport on large tvs situated in their outside seating area. It was very loud and brought down the tone of the resort in our opinion. People can stream and watch this on their phones. It would be great if Moga would take on and develop some of the empty outlets at the other side of the Marina. A good Tapas/Pintxo restaurant and a wine bar/chilled vibe bar with DJ would be fabulous additions. Something similar to the Sea Club. Would we return? Absolutely. This was our 7th visit to Cala’n Bosch and the best place we stayed at so far.

Absolutely amazing hotel, staff are so friendly, cheerful and helpful, the new Thai garden restaurant was excellent food and service The staff around the pool are very attentive and can’t do enough for you, this was our 2nd visit and whilst we were here we’ve booked for next year

We stayed in the bungalows during UK school summer holidays and I cannot rate our experience more highly. The bungalows are really spacious, clean, bright and modern. The pool is gorgeous and was never full or busy and plenty of really lovely sunbeds, exactly as the pictures show. It’s small but even with two massive teenagers we never found it lacking in any way. The location is unbeatable, literally moments from all the restaurants of the marina and a shop and a bakery nearby. And really close to the beach. We loved having kids old enough to access to the beach bar at the main hotel, such good fun and great cocktails. A fantastic holiday. We loved every moment.

Well we were very disappointed with our stay here. I concur with other reviews it looks nice on the photos but reality staying here is somewhat different. The bungalow whilst comfortable and stylish furnishings, on the whole was very lacking the essentials, especially in the kitchen area. Only 4 of everything plates, cups glasses wise and very basic, not even standard cooking utensils . Just a plug in induction hob with one pot and one fry pan, a toaster a kettle and microwave ( which you’d never use). I spent every day washing up. Cleaning team were great but we got very little lie ins as they came around 9:30am, but did a great job. There are also ant issues in the property, we had to keep everything in the fridge (bread, cereal everything ) to avoid them coming in with cleaning teams zapping them with spray. Towel quality was poor some towels were threadbare and ragged. The pool is woefully small for the number of bungalows and with kids with inflatables impossible to swim and there are only 20 sun beds so not even enough to service all proper if all were full ( 60 plus people). After a day or so as well it got quite dirty. We found into the holiday too people were starting to place towels on the sun beds to reserve as go off for the day which meant we got little chance to use one and get shade. Due to the location of our bungalow this meant our patio was in full sun most of the day with little shade. Also be careful on patio as if coming off off pool very slippy, we had a bad fall of one of our party during the holiday. The information on resort is unclear too as on the holiday booking sites it says you have access to the other hotel pools but you dont, only one which is Casas de Lago and that pool is also small with little sunbed access. The suites de Lago is private for those customers only and that has the best pool and facilities. Very dissatisfied. The resort outside has little to do too e.g trip to Ciutadella was also very disappointing as quite run down really and the cathedral we wanted to see was charging to go in! All in all we will not be return to this place again.

Please don’t be taken in by the photo of the pool area,even though this has been recently updated. The previous ones were also misleading, there are no individual sun loungers, just five doubles for 12 bungalows. It looks very tranquil and peaceful but this year there were many young children and with just one small pool it is not ideal. Location is really central for restaurants, bars and shops as you are next to the harbour.
