Giselle Vintage Doubles - Adults Only

The room was beautiful, good location near the big market and Danube, but there was loud construction on the floor below (for apar**ents, not the hotel), sounds of machine tools during the day; and the housekeeping staff didn't understand that their loud voices in the hallway and rooms they were cleaning were repeatedly disturbing guests. Also there was no TV signal and slate tiles on the bathroom floor were broken and uneven: if these things were fixed and construction were finished, it could be 5/5.

We stayed at the hotel from the 4th - 8th feb. Firstly the location is perfect and you are central to everything you could need. The underground metro is right next to you and the bus is right outside too. The rooms have everything you could need from a comfy bed to a coffee machine. Rooms can be cleaned everyday with fresh towels if you leave the sign on the door handle. Staff were very helpful through the stay and very friendly! To get into the hotel is a little tricky but also easy. It’s a big iron door between a few take away and a Starbucks. You put your code in which the hotel will give you before your stay, walk in and through another door and head right up some steps then you’ll find the reception. All in all we had an amazing stay, no complaints. Perfect! We did have an issue with the aircon not turning off but they came and fixed it straight away! Also gave us a small complimentary glass of champagne on arrival. Fantastic stay, if we return to Budapest I’ll be booking again!

Rooms was clean, entrance etc to the hotel needs updating, all staff were very helpful and friendly

We woke up at 12:30am to a man unlocking our door and coming inside, I screamed and he left. My partner went to reception to tell them and the man working said sorry, it was him looking for a remote and he didn’t think anyone was in the room. This was beyond a terrible experience. To add, there was no soap - just an empty bottle.

It's in old palace. The common areas are large open empty areas. Super nice staff and managers! Our room was comfortable even though photos showed an elevator you have to climb alot of steps so be prepared and able to do so. It's walking distance to see some areas. Our shower was difficult to use because the main shower head didn't put out water pressure and the hand held had to be held to be used because it's holder was broken.

Nestled inside a beautiful building are approximately 19 rooms of the Giselle Doubles. And they are comfortable, quiet and well equipped rooms at that (at least, mine was!) We booked on a whim but couldn't have been in a better place, location-wise. Easy 5 mins walk from the 100E airport stop at Astoria, above a metro station and within easy walking distance to many parts of Pest, or over the Elizabeth bridge into Buda. The room was comfortable, clean, and in -2° - very warm. Almost too warm (the radiator, despite being turned off, didn't want to cool down!) The bathroom was functional with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Tea/coffee making facilities are in the room (along with a fridge and a safe) but there's a kitchen downstairs shared with the Maverick Hostel free for use. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful, advising on must-see things and bookings items for us. I can imagine that it might get quite warm in summer but it was warm and cosy in winter! It was easier to find than I thought - head past Lidl, and there's a big iron door next to Pizza Me with a silver intercom. Press that, wait 5s and you'll be let in. Go through another door, turn right, up some steps and the reception is in front of you. Giselle Doubles are on the fourth (top) floor and there's a lift!

We loved staying here - amazing value for money. The hotel is in a convenient location near the river and a short walk to bars/shops/transport. The room we had was gorgeous with a lovely balcony view, bed was really comfy and we even had Prosecco as a welcome gift! This hotel is partnered with a hostel which meant we could take advantage of the hostel activities and deals for tourist activities. Would definitely recommend!

If you are looking for a place that offers clean rooms and bathroom at an affordable price, closer to the transportation and right at the center of everything, go for this place. You can't go wrong with this one.
