Already the second time at this hotel. I like it because it is I midst of nature and in summer cooler than other places. Beds are big and quite comfortable. There are several buildings and according to the price you get a new room or an older one. We had one in the old building but it was big and nice.

Very quiet. A good getaway. Breakfast simply excellent.

Très bon séjour. La chambre était spacieuse et très propre. Le balcon donnait sur le domaine et les infrastructures et bâtiments, agréable à contempler. Au départ de l'hôtel, de nombreuses balades sont possibles, notamment les magnifiques gorges de la Ravana. De nombreux visiteurs viennent déambuler dans le domaine et les différents magasins dispersés dans plusieurs bâtiments. Nous vous conseillons un séjour dans cet hôtel.

The location is fabulous right in the middle of the Black Forest and right next to the beautiful Ravennaschluct Christmas Market. We booked our room 8 months in advance so that we could be their during Christmas time to enjoy the beauty of the Market. Since it was a popular time, the hotel required that we stay two nights at 250 Euros a night. We thought why not, let’s treat ourselves. It would have been totally worth it had we a nice updated room but our room was so disappointing. Everything in the room was old. It’s seemed like it had not been updated in 40 years. The rug was so old that I kept my shoes on and my 8 year old son,being an explorer,found underwear and an empty bottle of water behind the sofa. The bathroom was too was never updated. For this price it is absolutely not worth it! You don’t even want to stay in the room because there is nothing in the room to even enjoy. The good thing was that the breakfast was plentiful. The Service was not great but eventually someone came around once! In closing, The highlights of our stay was of course the Christmas Market and also the hotel opened a new Fondue restaurant across the path and it was fabulous in every way- decor, food and service, all top notch! We will be back to the area but not to sleep at the hotel unless it’s in a renovated room!

Hello, This is our second time at the hotel, we were not disappointed, excellent as we remembered. This time we stayed as a family at the hotel as part of our trip to the Black Forest. We took 3 rooms, two in the main building and one in the secondary building. We were not disappointed, the second time was also successful. Wonderful staff, good breakfast, large clean rooms. Good sleep!!! Excellent location. Good restaurant. Parking Success the second time as the first time!!!

I have very mixed reviews on staying at this hotel. First off, we stayed at the new building not the old building. The new building was clean, updated, and had a nice bathroom. The downside to staying there in the room was that it was up against the woods and it’s the summertime with no air-conditioning, so the windows had to be open. Every bug came in from the outside. There were no screens in the windows. If you shut the window, there was no sufficient airflow to keep you comfortable in the room. I have multiple bites on my legs from the window being open. This was an unwelcome part of my stay. You truly felt like you were staying on a compound there were gates to get in and out. A house-sized cuckoo clock is on the grounds. There was an on-site gift shop and glass blowing center, along with hikes that you could take around the property. There were goats fenced in when you walked up one of the paths. Going along with the compound feel, there was an on-site restaurant and breakfast provided in the morning breakfast was OK. Dinner was forgettable. We did try Black Forest cake though. The best part of staying here was the overhead train track that ran through the property. I will say that there is an on-site outdoor bar and our bartender was friendly/attentive. The drinks were very pricey. Some of them were close to €20 each.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big, the views are lovely, I had a step in my room to look outside the window, as this was situated quiet high. It was comfy and we missed nothing. But the bathrooms need in the near future a little modernisation, but it was clean an nothing broken, just a little old fashioned. The dinner and breakfast was great. Nice and friendly staff, good service.

Two adults spent 2 nights here in early May and enjoyed ourselves. An absolutely beautiful hotel with all the natural wood, very friendly/helpful staff and great food onsite. We had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner here and all were excellent. We were in the modern Ravenna building and had a large bedroom and bath with a very large stand-alone shower, a heated towel rack and great lighting everywhere. The grounds are really pretty and we walked down a lane through the woods to the local chapel for exercise. A cuckoo clock shop is located on the grounds and we attended a short presentation on them. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

I would highly discourage from booking the hotel. The whole Hofgut Sternen complex is made as a tourist attraction site, making profit from the lost Schwarzwald's past.

Our room was very clean and spacious. The room got top marks for being cool, dark and quiet. Perfect sleeping conditions in my opinion. Our bed was the most comfortable one we slept in the 3 weeks we traveled through Europe. The bathroom was full-sized, with a tub and shower; excellent water pressure and sufficient hot water. The location was good, very picturesque, but close to the highway. There is a restaurant, a glass-blowing shop, and a clock shop on location. The restaurant was good. Not the best dinner we had in the Black Forest, but good. The included breakfast buffet was enormous, served in 2 rooms. Great variety and delicious! The staff were vey friendly and helpful. Our arrival time was significantly delayed by a series of cancellations and bad luck. I contacted the hotel with updates on our arrival and was assured that someone would check us in once we arrived, well after 10 pm. That was about the only thing that did go right that day. I would stay here again.

I'll start from the end. This is our second time staying in the hotel and I hope not the last. The place is amazing, the location is great and the staff is kind. The only downside to review is that you have to ask for room cleaning a day in advance ,sometimes you forget and there is no air condition. But this should not spoil the overall experience

I highly recommend the Hofgut Sternen hotel in the Black Forest, near Lake Titisee where we stayed 3 nights half board which included a day at the wonderful Nirvana like Spa. On the same site as the hotel there is an old church, which we accessed when given a key, an enormous functioning cuckoo clock, a decorative glass factory and shop and another beautiful shop selling clocks, mugs, and wooden ornaments. All energy is generated on site too. Viking Tours brought in coach loads of tourists everyday day with a great itinerary
