Hotel Miramar

I booked the day package for the Bournemouth Air Festival and can not fault a thing. The whole day was perfect. All the staff were very helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fresh and plentiful. Despite having lived locally all my life I had never spent the whole day watching the air show so I decided I should incase it was the last one. I am so glad I did. It was a wonderful day and I would definitely do it again. Thank you Miramar.

Was looking for a 3 night break to get away and recharge the batteries. The Miramar didn’t disappoint and delivered everything I expected and more. I had decided to pay extra for a sea view and being a single traveller expected to pay the full price for a double. I fact the Miramar offer an excellent reduced price for a single in a double. The room gave a spectacular view looking directly out to sea and had way more space than I am used to. Breakfast was freshly prepared with the usual choices and more. I ate both in the bar and the restaurant during the evenings - good quality, freshly prepared. All the staff I spoke to (reception, housekeeping, bar, restaurant, gardens) were all very polite, friendly and helpful. Location is perfect - an easy walk into town (if you want the crowds and facilities) , easy access to the beach cross the road and down the zigzags, easy to jump on the bus outside the hotel to Poole or Christchurch. Parking - from the leafy lane at the back is perfect. I will be back.

The hotel is nestled on a scenic cliff, a gentle walk down to the beach and well-connected to the train station. The place is extremely clean and tidy, with a beautiful garden. I stayed in a room with a beautiful sea view only for a night during the long weekend. The staff is very courteous and kind (they went the extra mile to help me when there was an unfortunate mistake with the booking). I will be back :)

Another wonderful stay at the Miramar. Staff are wonderful, helpful and polite without being intrusive. The food was excellent but we did miss the dishes of the day. There has been some recent staff changes, with many new staff still training, which meant slow service at times particularly at breakfast but it didn’t affect our stay at all. In fact it was nice to see the more experienced staff taking the time and having the patience ensuring new staff are comfortable and trained correctly. We have already booked to come back next summer and cannot wait.

Afternoon tea for an anniversary. Service was excellent and requested to sit outside. It is a special hotel without feeling stuffy. The view is amazing. The cakes were delicious, lemon posset, scone with clotted cream, macaron, sponge and a delicious sticky toffee pudding type sponge with black treacle. Will definitely return.

We held our wedding at The Hotel Miramar in June 2024 and wow what a venue! The setting is absolutely stunning! We were lucky with the weather considering how temperamental it’s been so far this year ☀️ and felt blessed to have the whole ceremony outside with a stunning sea view backdrop! Brian and his team and excellent and super attentive! Extra shout out also to Jasmine who notice I didn’t have a glass of Prosecco in my hand before I had! Everyone complimented the food, it’s hard to cook for big numbers and every plate was devoured. The whole day was a fabulous success with everyone saying it’s a day they’ll remember forever! Me and my wife had our wedding at Hotel Miramar and it was everything we could have asked for! Beautifully scenery paired with exquisite dining made for a perfect day! Our wedding organiser Brian was amazing, he took care of us from start to finish! Could not recommend this place more whether it’s for a quick tea/coffee catch up, staying the night or even hosting your wedding! Thank you Hotel Miramar, you made mine and my wife’s dreams come true

My husband & I have just stayed 4 very relaxing nights at the excellent Hotel Mirimar. Picturesque Hotel & excellent kept garden with fantastic sea views. The staff were very friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice of help yourself cereal, fruit, freshly prepared fruit salad, yoghurts, mini pastries & croissants, bread, jams, continental options & choice of fruit juices. Hot food & toast orders were personally taken by very helpful & efficient staff & brought freshly made to your table. Tea & coffee was plentiful & you didn’t need to ask for top ups as this was taken care off by the staff. We had dinner in the restaurant every night as the food was so delicious. There is plenty of choice on the menu with Daily Specials available. Again, the staff were very efficient, friendly & helpful, nothing was never too much trouble at all. We loved our sea view room & couldn’t wait to go back to our room after going out for the day & relax in the comfy chairs looking out at the magnificent views of the sea. We would sit & read and occasionally nod off to sleep. All of the hotel staff were excellent but a special shout out to David on Reception who was very helpful, friendly, efficient, polite and had a smile on his face all the time. The hotel is in a good location with easy walking access to the town with good views from the sea view rooms. The hotel is very clean and offers a good choice of menu at breakfast and dinner. However, for a four star hotel, some things are poor. Usually, 4 star hotels offer a replenished hospitality tray each day ( bottled water and Biscuits ) and a mini fridge and air con in the rooms. This was not the case. The service in the restaurant was very slow at breakfast and dinner. I waited 30 minutes for soup on one evening meal and it arrived cold. Breakfast was no better with tea and toast arriving after the main breakfast meal. Staff were setting up clean tables before serving ordered meals. Altogether very poor service. 3 stars would be how I can rate the hotel at a 4 star price. Drinks are expensive.
