The room was dirty, with stains on the bedding and mould in the bathroom. All of the rooms are directly under the bar/restaurant, which means they are very noisy and the only window looks into the communal corridor, causing no view, no privacy and a lack of natural light.

Unfortunately this is a horrible place to stay or eat. The food was cold and totally lacking any real flavour, the accommodation just felt dirty and the bar/restaurant area lacked any atmosphere beyond unwelcoming. The Peak District is beautiful, but this establishment really lets it down.

The room was dirty, noisy and there was no window to the outside. The room was under the bar/eating area, which meant it was very noisy and the only window looked onto the communal corridor, meaning a lack of natural light and no privacy if you open the curtains. It was impossible to stand up straight in the shower, as the sloping roof goes over it and the lack of cleaning was disgusting.

Absolutely amazing place! Very friendly staff and owners, delicious food, cosy and clean rooms. Stunning view and peaceful surrounding makes you want to stay there forever. We will definitely come back again!

Lovely place to stay, socialize and eat. Room is comfortable with a fantastic bed. It is a beautiful quiet setting, not far from the Sett Valley Trail, so you can enjoy an easy walk to Hayfield or New Mills. The food is fantastic. Breakfast is a highlight. We had a family meal for my birthday and it pleased every one of us. Nick the chef is a talented guy. When we visit the UK again, we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

The rooms are directly below the bar as restaurants area, the chairs being moved can be heard up until 10pm and it is not relaxing unfortunately. We wanted a cosy night in the room before a big hike the next day…
The rooms below the bar don’t get much fresh air, which leaves quite a stale smell.
On a positive note…
Bedding was very crisp and clean.
The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough. We enjoyed scampi and home cooked chips for dinner!!!
10 minutes drive from the Kinder Scout walking route which was amazing.

Very welcoming and friendly. Food was exceptional. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Nice views from the deck. Staff were brilliant. Definitely come back

The room was spotlessly clean with cracking views from the door step. Plenty of car park space with polite and friendly staff. I only stopped the one night because I was there for work. The food was delicious and even though I was late, I was still served plenty of grub.

Great service especially from Letitia. She was warm, friendly and professional. Room was clean and comfortable, (the shower could do with an upgrade). Meal was quite expensive but was good quality and tasty. Breakfast was good. Would stay again.
