Samari Spa Resort

The most beautiful resort in Ecuador. Our experience was just magical to say the least . The suites with all the amenities including the original decorations . Food menu is so perfect and healthy since the products used are organic. Perfect

Absolutely beautiful!! We loved this place, really special hotel in old colonial style with loads of original inventory. The staff is very kind and helpful and the restaurant serves delicious plates. Location is also great about 10 minutes from the center of Baños, calm but not too far away. Totally recommended! We will come back

This place is so beautiful!! It was once a monastery and the buildings and gardens are absolutely beautiful! The indoor pool and spa is amazing and was an absolute bargain for the kind of place this is!! I will definitely be back!

Such a beautiful property! I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 nights stay at Samari Spa. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The staff were incredible from Nora, Balen, Joanna, Sebastien, Cristian, Christian, Anderson ... they all took such good care of me and my comfort. The spa trea**ents were lovely especially the steam and cold water shower followed by massage and cocoa trea**ent. The food was delicious and service great. I look forward to coming back!

I was very dissapointed with the service at this hotel resort. I wouldn't recommend paying or staying here for what they are worth. My husband and I booked 2 nights in late December. When eating breakfast, you had to wait to be served. There was no buffet style or waiter waiting to offer assistance like other hotels. I did not like the fact that you had to wait on them. I enjoy getting my meal and the portions I desired and also having a waiter close by to bring additional items and monitoring the breakfast bars. We also decided to go to the spay area to use the jacuzzi and enjoy some relaxing. But our relaxing time was interrupted by another guest family with a crying toddler. The front staff were not able to manage the situation. They never asked the guest to leave so that others could enjoy the peace and quiet. It was horrible! We had to leave because the kid wouldn't stop crying. Also, I was shocked at how expensive all the services were. I live in Houston and I would pay a cheaper price for a massage than I would at this hotel. It was shocking to see how expensive everything was compared to what they have to offer. I did enjoy the grounds but that was mainly it. This place is defintely a tourist trap.

It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy the mountain views, and indulge in Baños. The spa is luxurious, the food is delicious, the beds are very comfortable, and it's close to all the attractions. A 100% recommended place if you want to enjoy Baños while resting and enjoying good trea**ent.

Beautiful Resort. Very clean, the staff is absolutely attentive. The pool jacuzzi spa and sauna are better than any other we visitors in Ecuador. This was our last stop to a month long journey through Ecuador and Peru! Our travel dates were January 2024-February 2024. Breakfast was always delicious and beautiful! The staff is amazing the grounds are gorgeous! Dora was so wonderful to us! I highly recommend Samari!

We arrived straight from Cotopaxi wearing hiking boots and looking a mess. The staff at Samari still treated us amazing, taking our backpacks from us and welcoming us to the hotel. I thought the guy who helped us was going to fall over carrying all of our luggage, but he was adamant about us not carrying our bags. The lady at the desk was very nice. She spoke very quickly in Spanish but I was still able to understand most of what she was telling us. A few other Americans arrived the day after us that didn't seem like they spoke Spanish, so I am sure they have people working the front desk that speak very good English. Samari was very good about answering all of our questions on WhatsApp before we arrived as well as everytime we talked to the front desk. We were leaving via taxi around 5pm to go back to Quito because we did not think the busses from Banos to Lago Agrio were running overnight. However, checkout was at noon. The staff allowed us to have late checkout while we went to the spa, stored our bags for us *which was not locked up, but was out of view of guests*, and offered for us to use the pool, stay on the grounds, etc while we waited for our taxi to come. We took an Uber to Pailon del Diablo and a public bus back (50 cents a person) and got off right in front of Samari. Our room was very clean, although got very dark at night. The lighting is not amazing in the rooms, but in the morning, there is plenty of natural light and the room is very bright. It also looks like other guests can see into your room with the thin curtains, but upon walking around outside and looking in, you cannot see in. The spa was very relaxing with the exception of people jumping in the pool and yelling. Shampoo and soap provided in spa bathrooms as well as towels if you ask for them. The restaurant was on the pricier side, but the food was very good. The grounds and architecture are absolutely gorgeous, and the staff was amazing. Also had a very cute kitty that liked to be pet!

Beautiful resort and very helpful friendly staff. 3 hours from Quito with private driver. It's very easy to arrange a driver from Quito to Banos. It's an easy drive compared to other drives we have taken on other trips. Samari Spa is a welcoming, lovely oasis right next to a town filled with lots of adventure activities. The waterfalls were incredible - and you can walk right next to Pailon del Diamante (the most famous.) We did some zip lining and another fun activity while harnessed in so we could climb across a horizontal ladder about 80 meters up. Whether you want to walk and drive around and take pictures, drive into the jungle and hike and explore, or do more extreme activities like canyoning - Banos has something for all of you. We are in our mid 50s and had our youngest son (17) with us and we all loved it. Our best advice is to call Guide & driver Ivan Burbano +593 96 764 8033 (on WhatsApp) ahead of time to make arrangements. Ivan can help you get to and from Banos from other places, and take you all around the Banos area and into the jungle. He is very flexible and knowledgeable. His English is excellent, and he's also able to mix Spanish and English very well if you want to mix it up for your group.
