Chakrabongse Villas

We spent 5 nights at the fabulous Chakrabonge Villas, in the river view suite. We loved everything about this hotel. The photos don't really do it justice. The suite was very clean and comfortable and the private terrace overlooking the river was a beautiful setting for the huge delicious breakfast. Mr Ohm and Atom were perfect and charming hosts and helped us with transport to wherever we wanted to go, mostly by tuktuk which we really enjoyed. We only had time to have dinner there one night and it was the best food we had during our trip. We should have skipped some other places and eaten there more instead. The pool was lovely and quiet for early morning dips and the grounds are a joy to walk through. If you hate generic tower chain hotels, stay here, you won't regret it. Also book their airport pickup, it went very smoothly.

A beautiful oasis set in old Bangkok. Nestled next to the busy river Chao Praya. This charming establishment provides welcome respite. If you stay here I highly recommend taking breakfast which is served overlooking the river. The food is delicious and plentiful. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely pool surrounded by lush greenery.

Simply Amazing. Entrance to Chakrabongse is WoW. One word 'Exclusive' . Super personal and Quick check in by Khun Ohm. He looked after us throughtout our stay. Even stayed to watch over us for our dinner overlooking Wat Arun. He is a credit to this lovely hotel. The food was amazing and service is exceptional. Its a lovely to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of busy Bangkok. Amazing Stay Thank you Khun Ohm. ❤️

only had 3 nights here on a whistlestop visit to bangkok. originally had intended to stay at the intercontinental but husband found this place online and we were really glad we hadn’t stuck with the “corporate” hotel. we had a pool room, the bed was very comfortable and air con made the room lovely and cool in the april 40 degree heat. pick up from and to airport was arranged without a hitch. several breakfast options available all beautifully prepared- and staff on hand helped us plan our short time in bangkok including temple vist, massage and booking a 2 hr river cruise on the Chakrabongse boat. pool area was lovely with shade available. really lovely accommodation that gives you a flavour of bangkok .

Atom and Ohm provided amazing service before our arrival and during our stay. They are the best! The location, setting and a**osphere were a perfect fit for us and really helped us to have a fun and memorable 5 nights in Bangkok. Highly recommended!

Exceptional location and warm hospitality. Our family of four booked one of the river suites and one of the garden rooms for 4 days over Chris**as. First off, the property is a gem in the heart of the historic area. It makes it very easy to walk to many of the top sites, take the ferry, see the flower and medicine markets and more. Secondly, both Atom and Ohm and their warmth made the stay exceptional. They provided so much historical and local knowledge that was pure gold. Thirdly, the owner, the third generation from one of the last kings, was in town, and she kindly sent around champagne for Chris**as. A nice touch. And finally, the river view for dinner and breakfast was lovely. This is a true oasis in the heart of Bangkok. Skip the soulless hotel and experience a Thai boutique villa. This is a rather unique property in the old city, small but definitely worthy of your consideration. The rooms were built on the estate of a minor Thai princess, who lives (at least part of the year) in a large house just across a walk way from the rental accommodations. The basic hotel rooms are on the small side but beautifully decorated and comfortable; larger villas are available. The pool is large and attractive; the dining room lovely and right on the edge of the river; and best of all, Ohm in the office was an extraordinary concierge who helped us choose restaurants and activities and then book them for us, always with a smile and always with an insider's knowledge. He is a gem and reason enough alone to stay here.

What a little piece of paradise in the heart of Bangkok: when the gates open youenter a completely different part of Bangkok. We are not part people, and certainly don't like the big highrise buildings many people stay at in Bangkok. We chose this hotel for its boutique look, green surroundings, views over the river and the close proximity to the Grand Palace, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The staff is incredibly hospitable, the room (Mali) very comfortable and decorated with much care to detail, and the breakfast so yummy: I don't think we've ever eaten better fresh croissants anywhere, not even in France. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we've already booked our room again for next year. We're looking forward to be back!

Our Thailand adventure began at the Chakrabongse Villas. They arranged for transportation from (and back to) the airport and our first steps in Bangkok was at their wonderful property. I believe that the name of the excellent gentleman who met us at the hotel was Om. He was very pleasant arranged for our bags to be brought up to the room, and gave us a tour of the grounds. He was also around to offer suggestions and advice. The Chakrabongse Villas borders right up against Wat Pho and the Grand Palace is a short walk away. From the hotel's dining room (right on the river!), you could see Wat Arun and all the colorful river boats. Our room was historic and was just lovely with traditional decor. Our visit included breakfasts and the fresh Thai fruit is something that I will miss until we visit again. In fact, I will miss just about everything. It was a truly wonderful visit.
