Villa Bukit Segara

We truly enjoyed our stay with Sery, Bari, Silvia and the team. The villa is sublime with a stunning infinity pool and private sea access. The team is super-attentive and we were so well taken care of. Food is also delicious. The property is sustainably managed and you can see how the owners care for their staff.

I did the Sailing Course with Mike and Derk. It was a really good experience as I gained many new knowledges and also because of the places we went to. They don’t just teach, but also make us handle mostly everything to really experience and feel how the navigation works. I would absolutely recommend doing the sailing course with them. Other than that, I have found there great humans being that I now consider friends. Thank you so much for your kindness and expertise.

We had three wonderful days in this beautiful, peaceful place. The room was lovely, the staff go out of their way to meet your every need, the food was delicious. We enjoyed the excursions. It felt like a home away from home and we will definitely be back.

Simply perfect for us. We stayed there one week with two children 7 and 10. Location is perfect: very calm, beautiful seaside with breathtaking corals. Facility is very well designed, high quality and very well maintained. Very nice (simple, clean and well decorated) rooms with beautiful view. Intimate feeling with only 8 rooms for a total of 16 guests. Food is very nice (we ate mostly Balinese and Indonesian dishes). Staff is extraordinarily nice and dedicated. Most have been working for the hotel for some time and seam to appreciate it and the relationship with the customers very much. The hotel owners created this place originally for them and then opened it up as a small hotel. This, we believe, makes a big difference. You can see and feel everything is done with the heart. We felt relaxed and in harmony.

A certain 5 star experience! Villa Bukit Segara exceeded our expectation on all counts. Accommodations were excellent , service was spectacular, staff very friendly and food was gourmet good. Right from having a driver from the resort picking us up in Canggu to our arrival we felt something special was happening. Extremely welcoming staff and greeting by owner Derk. Seamless to our lovely room right on the ocean. Architecture is superb topped with 25 Metre infinity pool right above the ocean. Villa has a booklet in the room that you can book various excursions. We ate most of our meals at the resort as food was much better than anywhere we had been to on Bali. Especially loved their slow roasted duck that we ordered a day in advance. Breakfast that are included with your room are custom ordered the previous evening. Very good along with fresh bread and a lovely homemade fruit marmalade. It was a tremendous 4 day stay and finished with our driver from the Villa Rian driving us to the airport and our flights back to Canada.

During a recent holiday in Bali, we spent 4 days in Candidasa and decided one day to book a car and driver to go up to Amed on the northeast coast of the island, an area we had never visited during our previous holidays in Bali. I looked on Trip Advisor and read some glowing reviews of the Villa Bukit Segara and restaurant so decided to book lunch there and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. The drive from Candidasa to Amed is lovely, through some beautiful rice terraces with Mount Agung looming in the distance. Amed is a charming linear village running for a number of kilometers along the coast and the Bukit Segara is slightly to the east of the main village. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the young lady who was in charge of the restaurant and we were shown to a lovely table overlooking the gorgeous infinity pool and the sea. The restaurant is open to the sea breezes and the views are spectacular- a wonderful location for lunch or dinner. The owner of the resort, a charming Dutch man named Dirk, came and chatted to us for quite a long time, giving us a bit of history of the resort which started life as his retirement home in Bali. It was lovely to meet him and hear the history of the resort- it made our visit to the resort even more special. The Bukit Segara currently has 8 rooms available and it seems to be a wonderful place to spend a few relaxing days on Bali's north coast. We had a lovely Balinese lunch of Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado, everything washed down by some ice-cold Bintang beer. It was a delicious meal in the most glorious of locations- a truly memorable day out in another beautiful part of Bali.

Absolutely beautiful, quiet place in Amed directly on the beach. The rooms are perfect size, good a/c, and amazing sound + view of the sea. The restaurant is right in the middle of the property and breakfast is delicious. The owner Derk and the entire staff are super friendly and welcoming. I even did a sailing class with them in a specially fitted local fishing boat. Great experience and looking forward to going back.

Me and my husband stayed at this place for 2 times. Because we liked it so much, we decided at the end of our trip to go to villa bukit again. First we stayed in the gardenvilla and the 2nd time in the privat villa with pool. The grounds and the buildings are situated directly at the sea and are far away from the street. This gives you a very quiet and peaceful place. All the building and interiors are built with high quality in design and construction and therefor you have a great comfort. The pictures don’t show, how wonderful the garden and this place is. At the end I would really like to mention the amazing staff. Every wish we had was taken care of and we would like say thank you so much! You made our Holliday very special and we appreciate everything you have done for us ❤️
