Goya Boutique Resort Review
We had a very disappointing experience upon check-in. The reception staff insisted that we provide a voucher or booking confirmation to prove we had paid for our child’s stay — otherwise, they intended to charge extra. This was completely unnecessary, as they could have easily verified the information in their system using the name on the reservation. Instead, they demanded screenshots of the booking from my phone, which felt unprofessional and frustrating. If we had the option to get a refund and leave for another hotel, we would have done so. Eventually, they confirmed the booking — but without a single word of apology for the stress they caused.
Additionally, despite arriving at 13:10, we were forced to wait until the official check-in time of 14:00. This felt unreasonable, especially given that the hotel was nearly empty during the low season — we could count the other guests on one hand.
When we finally entered the room, our mood worsened. All Deluxe rooms have their balcony view blocked by a tall, unattractive fence placed right in front of the windows. It appears that this was installed by the neighboring Komaneka resort, whose villas are located just beyond it — but the result is that the view from the balcony is completely ruined.
On a more positive note, the breakfast service was decent. The female waitstaff were polite and did their best to provide a pleasant experience.
