If this hotel were a moderately priced hotel, I would rate it as average. As an expensive hotel (supposedly luxury), it gets a lower rating. Sad that such an expensive hotel would be average at best, but that's what it is. I have stayed here years ago and the service and quality of the hotel have dropped dramatically. I ignored some of the recent reviews thinking it should still be a luxury standard... after all, it's the Four Seasons! If this hotel is representative of the Four Seasons current mode of operation, then I'll be avoiding in the future. The Facilities: The facilities are dated. Rooms are small and not of a standard for the pricing. Everything is just a little on the cheap side for a hotel, as if they were cutting expenses. The redeeming factor is its location. I will say, though, I noticed a few concerning issues... such as a ladder locked over a fire-water system in the staircase (fire code issue to say the least) and balconies that were small with a major (trip causing) lip at the threshold. The people working are nice, but not particularly well trained - with the exception of the folks at the valet who are excellent. I would suggest that the valet manager do training for everyone as they were nice, efficient, and effective in service. Unfortunately, we did not encounter the same level of service for the reception, concierge, dinner service, or room service. Go figure that on an extremely busy weekend (Country Music Awards, Eclipse, and a popular 5K race) this hotel had rooms available. No one had rooms available. They also, like most hotels, inflated prices for the eclipse viewing... however, I found that their massive increase for a room upgrade when the room they gave us was not good, especially since they had the room vacant otherwise, was inappropriate. The front desk and concierge made multiple mistakes in room changes, in room names, and in car transport help. If I were in corporate at Four Seasons, I would strongly think about how this location impacts the reputation of the brand. I, for one, will being avoiding Four Seasons in the future. As an aside, I am writing this review and posting after emailing my experiences to the front desk manager. I heard no response from the manager and still have not received our bills via email as requested (and that should have taken literally seconds to send the billing).
