It’s an uniquely well furnished room leading up to the centre of this big house: the dining room. The dining area as well as the living room are comfortably furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped and all rooms offer splendid views on the lake. Holiday home ‘marijke’ has three bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, one a queen bed and one a bunk bed. (Distinctive features:) There are three German channels and dutch cable tv, the use of wifi and washing machine is free of charge and ‘marijke’ has a height difference of 2 steps in the house. Baby cot and high chair are available additionally on request. (Surrounding area:) Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts. The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog. Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘de Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city.
