This is my 5* review of my stay, always wanted to visit Crete and So glad I did What a wonderful way to relax and clear my head , it was much needed ! Sometimes a little tricky when traveling or having a holiday as a solo traveler as some places can not be so professional and treat you kind of differently and give you very unpleasant stay, why be like that I say?, Treat People How You Want To Be Treated! BUT NO, NOT HERE , No, no Everyone I was able to engage with or observe were amazing and a massive THANK YOU For making me feel very blessed, welcomed and appreciated from day 1 till my last day, I wish I had longer to stay ! From an amazing room to being replenished daily ( room 801 ), to leaving a little kind gift of a birthday cake ( yes was celebrating my birthday away too ) From the excellent food , great variety to suit all needs To the friendly people/services all with beautiful characters ALL work SO HARD To being protected at pool and beach areas by the working hard lifeguards The whole area is a warm and a safe feeling Take some good walks around, set in lovely location - hire a car if you want to check out more, I heard transport is okay too, I can't comment on that aspect as I wanted some me/chill time I was make to feel like a prince and that’s not needed , but that’s my appreciation THANK YOU Keep up the great work and I hope to return another time in the near future With kindest thanks Christopher Hodson 5 *****

Very poor food and drink standard for an alleged 5 star. All local wine and beer is excluded from the All Inclusive offer in all bars, as well as 90% spirits (photo attached). Food offering is ok but ran out and replaced with cheap alternatives. Hotel is in need of a facelift. Disappointed given what we paid for our holiday.

A La Carte Restaurant was amazing! Everything was perfect- the food, the service, the ambiance... I went here with friends and we shared several dishes. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this place for anyone staying at the hotel or visiting Heraklion. I can't wait to come back.

The hotel has very nice facilities! The staff was friendly and supportive to all our needs. Very tasty food especially at the a la carte restaurants of the hotel! Highly recommended and I definitely want to visit Crete and the hotel next year again as they made my vacation special!

This is my second holidat in Crete and this hotel is one I will return to. Very happy with my experience at Knossos Royal. Great value for money, very nice room, and super friendly staff. Also very easy to reach from the airport. Definitely recommended for family vacations!

We had a luck to stay at those villas. They are located in the sea front and have spectacular views over the sea shore. We could enjoy the best sunsets of our life. The hotel offers nice choice of restaurants and you can taste local cuisine at Artemis restaurants and gourmet at Fontana Amorosa. There are lots of families with children, but those villas are in a quiet part of the hotel and we could enjoy the tranquility.

I celebrated a significant birthday on a 7 night stay with a large group of friends and relatives (17 people in total, 13 x aged young 50+ and 4 x aged 20 somethings) at Aldemar Knossos Royal and it was the perfect place. I made contact with Mr Ilias Papadomickelakis, the Guest relationships manager prior to travelling to ensure they would be able to accommodate my group, as I know it is not always easy to accommodate large groups and also to allow us to dine together for my birthday and on another few evenings. Ilias was so helpful and accommodating and he assured me that he would try to accommodate us as much as possible. I asked if the restaurants offered a good range of gluten free meal options as myself and 3 other members of my party had coeliac disease and required gluten free meals. I also requested a gluten free birthday cake and was prepared to pay for it if necessary. I was assured that there would be a good range of gluten free meal options in all the restaurants and that was me experience during the holiday. I was provide with a gluten free cake for my actual birthday celebration and we were allocated a section of the Artemis (Greek Taverna) restaurant for my birthday celebration. I wanted advise and suggestions on how I could pre-arrange a day excursion/trip with my group, so we could all get out the resort and have a fun activity together and Ilias suggested a local tour operator and put me in contact with Fivos Travel who arrange a site seeing late morning tour of the Minoan Palace and an afternoon sailing on a yacht with lunch. The tour was not to everyone's taste as it felt a little too long but everyone really enjoyed the yacht and the crew was absolutely great and the food they prepared was really delicious. Everyone really loved the resort even a member of my party who had mobility difficulties and was initially worried about taking the trip with me, but she was picked up and transported to all the restaurants and other areas in the resort as required on the golf buggies which was also available to anyone else if requested. I particularly enjoyed the sense of space, as nowhere felt crowded, there was several pools, so there was always sunbeds available and each accommodation area had its own assigned pool as well as the 2 main pool areas. My room was a ground floor sea front room with beautiful sea views and it was amazing. We were initially offered a first floor room in the same block but the balcony was tiny and the ground floor room which I had originally requested had a large patio and it was much better for us. I would like to thank Ilias and all the staff at Aldemar Knossos who took care of me and my group and made my special birthday celebration such a great occasion and left us with such fond memories. We absolutely loved everything about the hotel, its surroundings and the wonderful team of management and staff. We have already booked again for next year !!! Special praise and appreciation for the reception and bar staff. Thank you too to Elena for being the captain of a fine ship 🤗
