Hotel is in a great location, nice feel to the place but rooms can be stuffy and a bit dark depending on locations.

Anniversary trip and we decided to spend 5 days in Amsterdam before a cruise. Canal House came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Located on a quiet canal, easy walking to everything. Staff welcomed us with they custom blended cocktail, which was quite tasty at 7:15 AM. Actually it was perfect after the all night flight. Hotel advised that our room was ready, which was a bonus. Our room opened to a private garden out back. We sat there with coffee in the morning and a wine in evening. The hotel only serves breakfast and it's wonderful. Traditional Euro breakfast; meats, cheeses, croissants, fruits, yogurt, etc. They serve wonderful cappuccinos. There are scads of restaurants, shops, coffehouses, etc nearby.

Well, we got one of the outstanding rooms, number 12. Sadly, it was not outstanding. Broken air conditioning and a futon mattress for $1000 a night? We complained. We were offered no rate cut on the room, which is no way to run a business. We did get fans, but in the end we were in no way compensated for our very broken room, which was very, very hot. The woman that showed us the room did not tell us the a/c was broken. She said it made people sick LOL. I’d beware staying here. They are not honest. Also note that they do not include any room taxes when you look at their room rate. Avoid room 12!

Best customer service I’ve ever experienced from a hotel before! All the workers were exceptionally friendly and seemed not just willing, but eager to help us. Minoo, Eduardo, Sandra, & Oli were our very favorites, they made it feel like home.

If you are going to Amsterdam this is the only place to stay. This hotel is in a 17th century canal house that has been restored with love and care. The dining room, garden and bar area and wonderful and made even better by staff who are friendly and accommodating. I stayed in rooms with a view of the canal, and it was mesmerising watching the daily life of Amsterdam. Beds are super comfy, the rooms are dark at night due to great curtains, and spotlessly clean! And while the facilities and rooms are fabulous, the people who work for Canal House are what makes it!

Canal House is walking distance from Centraal Station and many of Amsterdam’s main attractions. Staff is friendly, the garden peaceful and the continental breakfast plentiful and good. The drawback for me is the lighting in the rooms. It must have been designed by Franz Kafka. Apparently, I wasn’t only one confused because a man came by daily asking if I wanted help adjusting it. The beds are among the most comfortable I’ve had anywhere. It has air conditioning but I opened a window and was quite happy. It is quiet and peaceful.

Stayed 4 nights. Comfortable room although no seperate bathroom. View onto lovely garden which would be amazing in warm weather. Excellent location with loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance but pleasantly quiet. Friendly staff. Breakfast OK. Reasonable price. Would stay again.

What a beautiful hotel. The staff treated us like royalty, we had a canal facing suite, three double windows. Right in the middle of Jordaan, so walking distance to the best restaurants and bars, or on the free hotel bikes. Breakfast in bed, the whole experience was simply exceptional. I can’t recommend enough.

This hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed at! Not only were the rooms beautiful - beds so comfortable, amazing shower, great products, and amazing view, but the staff was amazing! Hallia, Arik, Jovan, Tony and the entire staff made us feel so at home. Every morning and night we were greeted by the most pleasant staff who helped recommend and schedule some of our favorite meals and activities. And I cannot forget the amazing breakfast - so well staffed and delicious! HIGHLY recommend this hotel…will be back!
