Tigh Na Leigh

We stayed for four nights at Tigh na Leigh guest house in Alyth. Our hosts, Graham and Karen, made us very welcome and we had an exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable visit. The bedroom was both spacious and cosy – beautifully furnished and decorated – with a lovely view over the pretty garden. The ensuite was extremely well appointed. The whole house is tastefully presented with attractive colour schemes and furnishings throughout. Breakfast is prepared to order every morning from a menu offering a wide range of delicious dishes hot and cold. We particularly recommend the home-made granola and the tasty ‘full Scottish’. Graham has a superb knowledge of the tourist attractions, beauty spots and lesser known, hidden treasures of the district and beyond. We particularly appreciated his helpfulness when we were planning our trips each day, as he was able to provide all the information we needed and to suggest places to eat and to visit that we might not otherwise have thought of. He also provided useful maps with routes clearly marked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are delighted to recommend Tigh na Leigh most highly. Definitely one of the best guest houses we have ever had the pleasure of staying in.

Stayed here on a recent cycle tour, the owners Graham and Karen have certainly got this nailed! Exceptional property, great breakfast, this place is an object lesson in how to run a hotel/b&b. Thoroughly recommend that if you’re looking for a special place to stay in Alyth, then this is it.

This lovely, exquisitely styled B&B is a must if you are in the area. They will also do evening meals by arrangement. (One of the best meals we had on our two week tour of Scotland ) . Such a lovely experience we had staying here. Every part of this place has had thought to detail with heart and soul. Thank you Karen and Graham .

This is our 4th visit and it never disappoints. Graham and Karen are friendly, welcoming and will do what they can to help. This time we stayed in room 1 on the ground floor with our 2 small dogs. Spacious, clean, elegant and comfortable. Graham is always on hand to answer any questions or make suggestions for places to visit and where the tasty places to eat are. Karen presents the most beautiful food which is locally sourced, home made and incredibly moreish. My husband and I have various foods that we don’t eat however, with communication before our visit this was easily sorted out and Karen went beyond to ensure we had delicious home cooked food. Would recommend to all and we will be back.

Recently stayed at the beautiful 5 star Tigh na Leigh Guest House in Alyth. We received the most welcoming reception from the owners Graham and Karen. The house is amazing, with its unique bespoke decor. Each bedroom is individually designed and we would have loved to have tried each one. So we will just have to come back! At 7pm, we sat in one of the lounges with a G&T before going through for dinner. Graham had a lovely roaring fire going on in the log burner which was great as it was cold and rainy outside, it was soooo cosy, and to be perfectly honest we could have sat there relaxing all evening. Having said that, then we would have missed out on the culinary delights prepared by Karen. There was plenty of choice on the menu and a great selection of wine. I would have given Karen an 11 if the score was 1-10. The presentation alone was admirable but the flavours of the dishes were truly something she should be proud of. If you havent been to this guest house, you will be surprised at the colour in the dining room, its painted chocolate brown (and yes it works so well), as it showed off all their artwork that Graham said they had collected over the years. We were in bed by midnight, great sleep, due to a very comfy mattress and pillows (thats important to me). Up at 9am, nice powerful shower and then through to a full scottish breakfast. Next time though, Id like to try Karen's homemade granola and some of the sourdough bread with homemade jams. We sat with our coffee in the dining room which has floor to ceiling windows which allowed us to watch the birds dipping in and out of the pond. We even saw a cheeky heron! After breakfast, we walked round the lovely and surprisingly big garden where we met some very happy, well laying hens. It was also quite refreshing to see just how much of the food they prepare, is actually grown from their own garden. Sorry, if this review is quite long but I felt Karen and Graham deserved to know just how much we enjoyed our stay and all the little extra touches that they add. We look forward to our next visit in the lovely town of Alyth and Tigh Na Leigh Guest House.

Fabulous guest house the decor is so original with great attention to detail. The hosts Graham and Karen friendly and informative of the local area and Karen is a fantastic chef. We had a wonderful time there and will definitely return. Very comfortable bed and excellently decorated room.
