Had a really nice stay here. Yes it's a bit run down but it was clean, the staff are lovely, the food was great and the room was comfy and spacious. Had a lovely very comfortable 4 poster bed with a view over the garden and I think whatever issue with the heating previous visitors have had has been fixed since it was toasty warm the whole time. Shower wasn't brilliant but did the job and there was a bath too. Was definitely a good choice and good value for money.

Hotel overall is tired and urgently needs updating. The shower was cold, had no flow and at one point stopped altogether. Tried to use it at different times but to no avail. Roof light in bathroom needs a blind for night time as it lets light into the room. On the plus side couldn’t fault the food. Thought evening meal of 2 courses plus a drink was good value for money. Happy also with breakfast. Freshly cooked. Couldnt fault it. Staff friendly but felt that the younger ones needed training and direction. Seemed a lot of staff milling around but didn’t seem to be doing much.

Stayed at Dunmar House from end of April to early May, it felt like home. Maggie & Lauren were so wonderful in making our stay as comfortable as possible and giving great advice on places to visit. The food from breakfast to dinner was always so delicious & fresh.

A pretty little hotel in the middle of nowhere (=a quiet residential area). Get here after the darkness has fallen and you think you've ended up in an old scary movie! No lights whatsoever on the quirky drive up to the hotel or in the yard makes also taking yourself from your car to the entrance with dry feet a challenge. Personnel is nice and attentive. The room was like you could expect in an old house. Cleaning had not been so efficient as there were dead flies (scary movie?!) on the floor (I should have performed my daily yoga on the bed instead...). The shower (heating system) was so loud that I was afraid I would wake up the whole hotel, so I would recommend to refrain from showering in the wee hours. The bed was nice and it was quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. The restaurant served food (did not try but it looked good) and drinks (did try). The breakfast was really nice with several warm choices.

Myself and my partner went for Sunday lunch - I had the chicken with haggis and fresh veg, my partner had the chicken Sunday roast - the food was beautiful. And very reasonably priced - we could not fault the service or food at all. Would highly recommend- fresh made food, not remotely cheap pub grub. We will certainly be back for sure 👍

What a delightful evening at the Dunmar this evening. They have started doing a main course and drink for £10 deal and it was superb. Generous portions, delicious well cooked food and a dressed side salad. Lovely staff and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit.

A warm and helpful welcome and a cheerful farewell. And everything in between was spot on. Helpful and friendly staff, good food, and a comfortable room which was perfectly prepared and well equiped. Not a lot more we could ask for, and will certainly return. Many thanks.

The Dunmar has been recommended to me lots of times and was glad for an excuse to stay finally. It was excellent. The staff were friendly. My personal highlight was the breakfast. The room was massive and the bed was comfortable. 11am check out is great. Only downside was the room was a little cold but that just made the bed harder to leave.

Lovely quiet large room, however really needs upgrading, shower poor, cold water in the evening. Meal was good , nice pint of guiness. Staff good. Mould on ceiling in bathroom. Comfy bed, best of all QUIET yippee a good night's sleep. Blah blah blah review needs 200 characters hope this is it.
